 the company who broadcasts cbs along with other "quality channels" (comedy central(good) nickelodeon(bad)) has made its channels so expensive to put on a "network" that dish network cant afford it and has lost all of those channels.

Who else is mad ( )at this?

Viacom has always had problems in who it lets broadcast its stations and why. Dish Networks is just sick of being thrown around about it. Too bad the people that want to see those channels are just going to leave DIsh Networks. /. has a great article about this.

Viacom is a bad company. Avast. That sucks. I don't have Dish though, so I win.

EDIT: Oh yeah,

comcast is good when it comes to providing channels, but their customer service once again falls short. 4 nights ago it was storming and our cable "went out." My mom called the next morning and they told her theyd be by here that afternoon. they werent here until earlier today. IT turns out the problem was simple (one of us had pushed the tv off its correct channel and i was too lazy to try and fix it), but still.

oh yeah and what the heck

Generally, you can get boat loads more with Dish than Cable. It really all depends what you need. If and when I get a house in a year or two, I will switch to Direct TV and get a Dedicated Line for data and phone from my telecom provider. For the same price for Cable tv I can get far more channels and other programming.

You think that's bad?

TRY LIVING WITH THREE PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT A TELEVISION, LET ALONE CABLE

Every time one of your friends says, "Haha, that's like in that commercial where the guy *yada yada yada* haha it's so hilarious" and you have NO idea what they're talking about BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE A FREAKING TELEVISION IN YOUR APARTMENT, think of me.

The best part? It's over $0.06/customer. Dish raised their prices by $3. Viacom though that raising the price for them by a little bit right now would work, because the last thing you want do is right after hiking rates is cut back service. Dish chose not to accept the increase and thus are going to get screwed when they lose a ton of customers.

Smart business move on Viacom's part, unbelievably bad business move by Dish Network. Don't try to blame this on Viacom, they saw an opportunity and they took it. Dish network could have worked this out in a variety of ways. They choose the worst one and it's gonna cost them.

I'm with DirecTV. The alternative is !@#$'n overpriced, no-channel, shitcan Adelphia. No thanks. Plus I've never really liked Dish Network for some reason...now I know why. Long live DirecTV!

I was going to say what happy lil'elf said. It's not viacoms problem. It's DIshs. Also they channels are back. Phaelon I hope you are still getting your dollar off your subscription rate. That was agreed upon before the channels were put back on the air. Also some of my buds here at work called dish and bitched, cause it was their problem no viacoms and dish wanted everyone to bitch at viacom, so they even get teh dollar off and a free pay per view a month. If not sorry to make you even madder about this. :p

Yar, Ultimate TV is the microsoft one. Had Tivo for a while, Ultimate TV is overall a better system though. Better features, at least from when I had Tivo about a year or two ago.

Awww... :tear: Even though it's Microsoft, it's still good. They put out a quality product, proof that the apocalypse is near.

Edit: I've decided that I'm now the Microsoft information minister.
