I recently recerted my character as a cloaker. I diddn't have enough points to pick up mosquito, so I went with ATV. I understand that most people pass off the wrait as usless, but that could not any less true. The thing allows you to get into interlink facilities undetected if you go in at 1% power. It is a little faster then a crouch walk, harder to see then a crouching cloaker, and spits won't shoot at you, even if you are in an interlinked SOI! The only thing you have to wory about is mines that can pop you in one shot, but at slower speeds, they are easy to avoid. If you fly in a mossy, and hotdrop, you get a big explotion from it hitting the ground, and a big ass blue beam in the sky that is hard not to see. I can drive my wraith on 1-3% power into a heavily defended courtyard, park it in a corner and get into the base with out anyone even noticing! It is the perfect vehicle for any cloaker, imo.

They evade Interlink radar? Hm. I never had much use for ATV, but if this is the case, I may have another look. :D

Yeah, but you can still past the spits.

Not yet. It's getting a name change to sensor shield in the future though.

Why not just use the harrasser? It doesn't show up on radar. And won't be shot by turrets at any speed.

Yes, because interlink is buggy as hell. The idea was that if you were in sensor range of a spit or motion sensor inside the interlink you'd show up on the HUD. In reality, anything inside the SOI shows up inside the HUD, regardless of any spits or motion sensors. The only thing crouch walking will do for you is get you to that inevitable death a bit slower.

I bet you're one of those people who thinks cloakers are invisible, too.
The fact of the matter is, being seen is less dependent on what armor you're wearing and more dependent on how good you are at "not being seen". Most of my covert ops have been in rexo, in a harrasser, behind enemy lines. Being able to cloak can be a crutch.

oh yes, you can also run people over with it...just ram it into a tree first so the impact blows you, the wraith, and the bastard you just rammed into lil pieces when it hits :)

Yeah, you can carry more boomers that way :)
But being invisible does make it a little easier to infiltrate bases.

I perfer being invisible for most of my behind enemy lines work, but I will suit up in rexo if there is no one aroun to blow the gen faster.

Bah, instead of walking past spitfires in cloaker, i take my normal soldier with a crapload of jammers and blow the hsit outa those spitfires. Then i just stroll for the main door, blasting the shit outa anyone, hack the base, destroy anything nearby, walk back outside, and drive my Deliverer out of the enemy vterm.
But really, a Wraither should be able to go fast without being seen period....well not on radar.
