Was reading the newpaper this morning, and theres an artical on Teleportation. Says the were able to teleport a small packet of data across an entire mile via teleportion. The catch is that the data cant be intersepted or stoped, making it a great way for sending secure files ect. Now, even though its gonna be like another 500 years till we can teleport a human i still thats one big step. Way to go humanity!

actually its about 73 years tell we can tellaport a human,
Dont believe me? Go ask someone from 1870 how long it would be till a plane soared though the air 5 miles up at 700+ mph, or how long until we landed on the moon, or spoke instantly to someone across the globe. Or had color TV. Or TV/Radio period.

"Today the USED (United States Earth Directorit) discovered a small faction of people who did not agree with their rule and were planning on not paying taxes. The USED immediatly responded to this extremly radical and hostile activity by teleporting an overwhelming force to their location and slaughtering them all. Resistance was reported to be heavy as the people fired gas agents into the air during the assault. Later it was discovered that this gas was actually dust kicked up by the fleeing people. The government claims these people to be terorists while others who saw the incodent claim they were simply homeless beggers who had no money to give for taxes."
Teleportation... another military weapon is created. :ugh:
We could destroy the world tommorrow but we can't balance the budget. I want a balanced budget.

With teleporting it would probably have to be from one teleportation station to another, not just to random remote locations.
At the first, you are dissassembled into information that can be carried by light. At the second station you are reassembled.

They are closer to indefinite life extension than they are to practical teleportation. So if you get to see the first, you will likely get to die because of the second. :)

I read an article a ways back they can actual do small objects with extremeley basic molecular structures ,like rocks (small ones)
and that there is so much data in the human body it would take a stack of cd's from here to the moon to store al the data ;)

The Good about teleportation: Easy travel, you could go anywhere you want in a matter of minutes.
The Bad: No more excuses not visit your relatives, and no more bad weather days at work :(

Now all we need is a spaceship to be "beamed up" into... :(

USS Minnow Johnson will be the first ship to utilize the new teleportation system.
