View Full Version : The Riddle of Isolation
Airlift

1. Your squad is defending a base alone and everyone but you is wiped out. The spawn tubes are out and the squad is a full 15 minutes from making it back, during which time you can expect no relief. The squad leader leaves the choice of suicide to regroup or hold your ground as long as you can and wait for help. What do you choose?
2. You are in the same situation as above, but this time the squad leader informs you that the squad has been broken and you should not expect any relief. Now what?
3. Same situation as the number 2, but now you are the squad leader. You need 15 minutes to travel back to your isolated soldier. During this time he may be killed, sending him back to your current loc. To make matters worse, the squad is disbanding, leaving you alone with no one you've worked with before available to join you. What do you do?

1) hole up in the most fortified spot and try to take as many enemies out as I can. The goal here is not to defend the base but to get the squad as many BEPs as possible. The faster the people in the squad get BEPs the better they can fight for the faction in the future.
2) see number 1. If not BEPs for the squad, BEPs for myself.
3) I wait for the soldier to die and then we go out together to join up with some new people. It is more fun to play when you are playing with someone you know, so I make sure I am with this guy for next battle.

1) Blaze of Glory, the best form of defense is attack :)
2) See above.
3) I gotta big squad, there always gonna be folks around :)

1)Find the most sneaky beakiest spot to hide and try to keep the attackers from getting to the control room for as long as humanly possible before death by 7.62 to the head. This affords the attackers less time to hack before relief arrives.
2)Do the same. When(cos u aint gonna live long) you die you can rejoin your squad.
3)Try to convince some ppl i don't know to get to my mans position and help him out. I stay where I am and if he dies he will return to my position.

1. Fight as long as I can (if they're vanu thats no problem) because the more I kill the less the squad has to face when they get there even if I die the enemy will not have captured or held the outpost for long.
2. Hold ground as long as possible try and get kills because the BEPs for killing somone when your out numbered like that ooohhhh more certs for me.
3. At respawning piont I wait for the rest of my squad, regroup then I go back for lone man. If that man ran away I will kill him myself.

Always the same Answer .I wip out my crazy skills wipe out the entire invading force and wait for everyone else to show and clean up the mess:D :ncrocks:
Nice scenarios =)
I have NO IDEA what I'd do. Probably group everyone up and make a last stand. This is why Im not going to be a leader =)

1.) fight to the death, give teh other guy as much trouble as possible
2.) same as above
3.)Broadcast a message for any active squads to redirect to the base and haul ass to help him out.

1. Stay put hold on for as long as possible. Give the enemy as little time as possible to capture. Hope for the cavalry to come, die honorably if I have to.
2. Suicide. If no help is coming and we would lose that base eventually (since no help is actually coming) then I would suicide and rejoin my team where my efforts are needed. Truthfully, if you stay around you are just "cowboying it" and not really helping where your forces are redirected. It would be obvious that your squad is intent on giving up the base if no one is coming to help.
3. Weigh the assets of a 15 minute commute and what we are losing with what we could be doing that is more critical. If the 15 minute commute is of no matter and the base is something that we must have then I give the soldier the option of coming back to regroup (suiciding) and taking back the base en mass or staying put until we get there (same question as #1). Wouldn't matter if we have a rag tag group of people, if our objective is to come and relieve the singular soldier then we should be able to set up an effort in any case. Enlist help if there is any to enlist.

No, not stupid. The rule of thumb is: When in doubt, agree with Airlift.

1: Try to find a position to hold up in, and wait for backup. If you start just killing people, the people you kill will know right where you are, and just tell the rest of the enemies. When backup shows, start killing them from behind. Wreak some major havoc that way.
2: With no backup coming, I would find at least 2 or 3 spots where I could get to relatively easily. Kill random strayers from the pack. If I feel my position is in jeopardy, move to the next location, and repeat.
3: I would instruct the stranded man to refer to answer 2, until I get back. Then broadcast that I need to form a squad. In the 15 minutes it takes to get back there, I might be able to muster up a reasonable attack force to (a) pull him out (b) take the base back. If I don't get a squad, well, then me and him are gonna have a helluva time:D

you get rid of the recruit thing when you post more. You get an avatar when you reach the rank of soldier (25 posts I think).

And Alucard, for the Recruit thing, Post more. Need 50 posts to become a soldier. I don't know how to get the rest, Haven't made it that far yet. As for the Avatar, go to your User CP, and edit options. at the very bottom, you can change yer avatar

1)Find a nice little hideing place and wait for the squad to resume it's atack. When the base is under atack, begin atacking the enemys from behind.
2)Thats what outfits are there to prevent, but if it does happen, I'll fine a nice little hideing place and wait for the enemies to leave/move to the next base. Then I run down to the console, hack it back, and run back to my hideing place incase the enemies come back.
3)Tell him I'll try to get him out, and to keep his head on his shoulders.

1) Find the best, most defensible position in the base and fight a delaying action.
2) See 1. If the spawn tubes come back while they're still attacking, say bye bye, attackers.
3) Run for the base. If there are any MAXs in the squad have them autorun and hit the enemies from the back, since they're attacking.

1) I'm a sniper, why am I in a base? Was I rearming? I would Hide somewhere, hope they dont find me, and open up with a supresser on anyone who did.
2) same as above
3) Why am I *Leading* a squad? My teamates dont have good choice in leadership, and my leading the squad is proably why we were wiped out. Dont have a sniper so a Commanders job. pffft.

Alcuard, I believe that the avatar upload is at 20 posts.
1. Hide and wait for my mates to show up, then hack the enemy while they were defending from the rest of the team.
2. Place mines throughout the facility and leg it back to my mates.
3. Send a message to the higher up on the command chain telling them that the base was under attack from a force twice the size it was, so they'll send a massive force to retake the base. That'll teach those Bastards who took a base under MY watch.
Or hide in a corner and wet my pants due to the preasure of each different scenario.

1. Make a charge at the enemy and attempt to bring as many down as possible, then when I die (shouln't take too long) I regroup with my squad.
2. Same as 1, but if the squad doesnt regroup then I go huntin for another one or perhaps take a drive around the country solo, to cool off from the battle :D
3. Work on building another squad and invite that person to join. By the time he dies/respawns you might have a few peeps recruited.
