Better they patch on monday and work out the bugs while half the player base can't play heavy do to school and work, then to patch on friday and F*^& up the entire weekend for the majority of the player base.

Edit: Redread your post and i get what your saying now. I guess your right but one things the devs need to changed or do is do make hotfixs right after a patch to fix everything that is bugged or messed up.

Exactly his point.

If they patched it on a weekend, and fucked it up, they wouldnt make a hotfix.

No, instead we have servers lagged, crashing, and bugged. Resulting in them bringing the servers down at least once, and for as much as 16 hours after each and every major patch, to fix the patch. Nothing is more annoying than to try and login after dinner the day after a path and discover they have had the servers down since breakfast trying to fix the issues the patch caused.

Bah, I still can't believe they pushed the infiltrator changes back. They seemed fine to me on test center, and it's not like the balance of the game was really going to change. Dark light is still buggy as hell and it still reveals us. Even if it did give us more power for a few weeks, it ain't like we don't deserve a few days in the sun.

Slightly confused about your remark concerning darklight still revealing infiltrators. They aren't removing that function to my knowledge, as it is it's only function. I miss something again?

The Dark Light bug, which has existed forever at this point is that over half the time somebody is using it you can't actually tell that they're using it. While you are playing the game, notice how often an enemy name doesn't appear over their heads. This goes with or without enhanced targetting on. If you don't see a name over their heads, an infiltrator doesn't get a chance to see if they're using their Dark Light implant. The most common response when an infantry trooper is coming in your general direction is to freeze to make sure they don't see movement and turn on their implant. Unfortunately, many times they have the implant on (not that you can actually tell) and are running right up to you to blast you. Boy, let me tell you, that never gets old. Ever.

I've seen that bug extensively and always thought it was like a vid card adjustment.

Ah, haven't played inf in a long time so I wasn't aware that was going on. I have seen the name vanishing that you refer to, and always thought I was just lagging as always.

You gotta be fucking kidding me. Can anyone confirm this? I swear they said that the 5m restriction would be put back in for this patch...grr.

Maybe it's in there but not announced. They don't always add everything to the patch notes.

Although why mention of this one is left out, I don't know. If I were any sort of responsible developer or PR person, THAT would be the one item that I would GUARANTEE was the first thing mentioned (provided it were in there).

Well, I'll give them a chance to clarify with today's patch notes. As of right now, there is no official dev post about today's patch. The notes on PSU are from the test server notes.

Ah, fair enough. I thought they'd gone away from undocumented changes, as they're bloody annoying. Evidently not.

Exano found one, whereby if you log out in an enemy facility, you log back in in a friendly one. Which is nice.

My GF's machine sees cloaked inf w/o darklight. And she's running a 4600ti with no special settings.

So they might not even need DL to blast you.

Wow, finally some new stuff and a bug update to boot. Great job. I wonder what's going to be the next under new content.

Edit: Just noticed the DC buff they threw in. That's going to generate some comments for sure.

Also, did they change the fall damage model? I had heard that fall damage was going directly against max armor instead of health.

Best patch ever. The broadcast warpgates make continent locks more valuable, battles easier to get to, and create a frontline between continents. The general Core Combat changes are great, particularly the longer mod times and *particularly* the cavern lock benefits. Cavern control has a new, special signifigance. The Capitol, in addition to it's warpgate benefits, contribute a great center of power on a continent, and a safe place to mount an attack from. The Sub-capitol system is great, and the numbers needed to take down the force dome and to actually hack are just great. The CC ammo boxes make them viable weapons now, and they're easier to get with more frequent cavern locks.

The only think I want to see added is the capitol being a new spawn catigory. As long as your empire controls it, you should be able to spawn there from anywhere on the continent without having to bind. This would be good if the hostile empires are beginning to overtake bases attached to the warpgate. Have a CR send out a global for people to broadcast to the continent. Those people deconstruct at the nearest tower, right to the capitol and a counterattack is launched.

Woah this certainly wins the Good Suggestion Of The Day (TM) award ;) You have to be careful that the benefits aren't going to be too powerful though. Attackers do need to have a decent chance.

All I can say is that the battles have been very intense and fun the last few nights. I've seen a lot more battles taking place outside the bases and there has been an increase in special ops. I like that because I'm usually sitting back on defense and I've been very busy lately defending against some very organized squads. The challenge has just gone up.

damn straight, home continents were trash.

and yes, my hour of fun this afternoon consisted of some of the beset open field and base combat i've come across in PS yet. i'm thrilled.

Uhm they aren't changed at all, it's just a regular base which is labeled capital.

Home conts sucked, glad they are gone

Have you noticed though that most (not all) continents being taken and held ARE the old home conts. Ish and Cery are often red, Oshur and Easmir are usually purple.........
The conts are constantly changing, but empires still seem to be fighting for the same conts they always did.

While I have been spending a lot of time on Cyssor, I've also been in a fair number of battles on Oshur which even as a VS I used to never fight over. Even more unusual, I've been in the caverns on three separate occasions in the last week...which is more than the entire three months previous. Solsar and Forseral are also popular places.

Really haven't fought much on Ishundar, Searhus or Esamir since the patch...don't know why that is. You're probably seeing the same places held by the same empires because that is the terrain people are familiar fighting on (Have the Air Towers/Sniper spots/overland routes/etc. planned out). As there is more diversity in warzones, you'll see the continents begin to shift slightly when people get their bearings for fighting on these places that they didn't usually fight on (how many TR have extensive field experience with Esamir?).
