He did talk himself into a hole there. However, WMD's should be one of many things considered when looking at the reasons for war in Iraq. When I hear people remind us that there haven't been any weapons found, it's basically like they're saying all the mass-gravesites that have turned up are perfectly fine to them. If you Googled Halabja and then the reasons for the UN placed Sanctions on Iraq after the first Gulf War, which remained on the country until last year I might add, I think you'd surprised.

He's hinting to the theory that the weapons were shipped out to other countries prior to the beginning of the war. It's possible, considering Bush gave Saddam and his regime 48 hours to leave Iraq before military action was taken, not to mention the three or so months of UN debate. They probably did as much as they could to cover their tracks.
