Are they always really difficult? Because I tend to do pretty bad at them, what game is good to practice on?

Yeah... games like Halo and Tribes 2 are games that I'm badass at. Games where I have to be excessively slow and quiet aren't my thing. The thing I'm good at being slow and quiet with is slowly creeping up to a ledge with my sniper rifle so I can kill 6 enemy soldiers.

Good ones are Deus Ex 1 or 2, but you have to try to play them stealthy. A dev of number 2 claimed you can beat the game without firing a shot. i have no idea how, but they have said it.

If you make it a little more realistic, by turning up the damage (So you can kill/knock out in one shot) you can be very stealthy, run up and smack them upside the head before they know what happened, I got through about 3/4 the game before I had to actually shoot anything.
BTW: Stealth games > Yuo
I can make it through the entirety of MGS:TTS without firing shots except at boss characters. The rest I choke/drag 40 feet and kill/knock out.

I'm pretty sure you can get through the entirety of splinter cell 1 only killing like, 2 people, who are mission objectives.
I usually forget i'm playing a stealth and instead of completely evading an enemy, I end up knocking them out or killing them anyways,

I own at all Metal Gear Solid games. other then that, everything I play is primarily: "The aliens/nazis/mutants/monters are coming to take over. Please kill them all now. Sincerely, Strategic Command."
I live a stealth game.
Everyday I sneak around behind people and scare the hell out of them. One of my favorite pastimes. :)

The first time one of my buddies saw the name he asked it was a porn about Blow jobs....................................
hehe Yeah you'd think they can come up with something better. But hey it's probably means something cooler or sounds cooler in Japanese.

SplinterCell.. learn it and love it hehe.
No cloaking, no big ass robots, rocketlaunchers etc. Just good ol sneaking around, hiding in the shadows and saving the world.

Yeah, I like Splinter cell because it's actually believeable on the most part, that shit could actually happen, people who do that could actually exist.

::Eagerly awaits Starcraft: Ghost.::
If you haven't heard of it yet, SCG is going to be a stealth game that features a (hella hot) female Ghost named Nova (a Ghost is like a spec-ops sniper recon person if you've never played SC, in which case, you are pathetic). Its coming out in June I belive on XBox. You will be able to do all sorts of kickass stuff and will have to fight Terrans, Protoss, and Zerg.
The Terran Marines, if they spot you, will close their helmets, becoming much harder to kill with a headshot (pretty much the only weak point). Protoss have the Psi Blades of course, (but Nova gets one too :) ) and the Zerg cannot be stealth-killed due to their quick reflexes etc.
You'll be able to do stuff like jump up onto a pipe hanging from the ceiling, flip and hang from it while firing your rifle upside down. You will be able to do a lot of other kickass stuff, but you're going to have to go read the preview of it at Gamespot.
Gamespot Preview (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/action/starcraftghost/preview_2882343.html)
Note: the preview is like a year and a half old though, due to the fact that Blizzard is very tight-lipped about their games before they release them...
Can't wait for it! I loved Starcraft, an I can't wait to go head to head with a Hydralisk, Zealot, or Firebat in beautiful 3D goodness!

Can't wait to call down nuclear weapons from the heavens to blast some ultralisks! The Marine powered armor looks sweet too! :D

According to Colonel David Hackworth:
Snake eater -- where does that term come from?
That is an old expression from the beginning of Special Forces. They would have demonstrations at Fort Bragg [U.S. Special Forces headquarters in North Carolina] to demonstrate their animalism and they would bite the head off a chicken or bite a snake in half.
This was in an article about the war in Iraq, not the video game.

Snake Eater is also very appropriate since both the final boss, and the main character in the first game has the codename Snake.
Solid, and Liquid snake respectively. They are twin brothers for those that do not know, and they are both "cloned" from the DNA from Big Boss, which, it seems, is the character you play in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater. And Big Boss had the codename Snake when he was working for the good guys so to say.
And yes. I love Stealth Games. Especially Metal Gear Solid.
The old Metal Gear games where my favourite NES games.
