What's a good way to practice aiming without a scope in a game like CoD, or aiming with one. My reflexes are too slow, I can't pinpoint their head fast enough and pull the trigger.

I keep getting blown away while running by people using bolties who are 300 yards away without scopes, that's beyond impossible for me, and that's how good I'd like to be.

If I try practicing I just keep getting nailed.

That's usually not their skill that's messing it up, it's yours, Don't run straight towards or away a sniper, zig zag.

I mean they're to my side, straight infront is a simple target. I'm running, they're off ot my right.

Yeah, they can lead you as you run. I am teh l337 wh0r3 sn1p3r :). I used to pwn everyone in medal of honor with a sniper. It's all leading. Never run in a single straight line, no matter where the sniper is in accordance with your position. Make jolty movements every now and again to avoid being led.

The game that got me in tune for everything was definately MoH. That's basically where I started learning to snipe with all sorts of weapons. Try it and use a realism mod. It worked out even better for me because my internet was shit at the time and I even learned how to compensate for really bad lag.

or use sof2 mp test or real version, that taught me to have quick reactions. It scares the shit out of me how fast i react now.

I don't have CoD but a surefire thing that always seems to work in games is if you think/know you're in the scope, randomly back up two or so steps every so often. Don't make it a pattern, though. If you've got a non sniper guy firing at you while you're trying to do this, you're boned, though.

I started messing around trying not to be a perfectionist. Was on that one kinda farm map, you know in SP where you and Moody are blowing up the Artillery. Came in halfway through, scored 20 kills and 3rd place. I just started aiming more for the body.

If you cant hit the head with a rifle, hit the body with a machine gun. I recomend the Thompson :D

The Garand is my weapon of choice, but I can make due with the m1 carbine. I don't care much for the springfield, most of the CoD MP maps are too small or urban to really need a scope.

Play Reflex2. That game will speed up your clicking skills like no other. It helps with FPS games and RTS games. Besicly it helps with with any game where you have to point and click realy fast and with good accuracy.

after over 30 hours of practice you should perfect it. trust me. you can own at any game you want if you play it enough. right now Im working on my skills in UT2k4 and BF:Vietnam. I had my skills in CoD down pretty good, but I havent played in 2 months.
