When version 1.13 goes live in a few weeks, WWIIOL will begin its tremendous graphical overhaul. The UNITY II engine upgrade is underway and you can see some of the amazing results below:
*Screen shot of the new trees and foliage:

*Movie of the trees and bushes moving with the wind:

Here is a snippet of what CRS has to say about v1.13:
"We will be replacing all of our trees, bushes and plant objects with highly detailed, fully 3-D rendered foliage that have leaves and branches that sway and look very realistic. This will be the first major implementation of Unity II changes that will continue over the coming months...We plan to complete our implementation by adding new grass and clutter objects, improving both the immerssivness of our game world and the amount of cover for our ground warfare. Our goal is to provide a visually stunning world that is also superior for gameplay."

It was 3 years ago when strategy first made them release it early. But CRS has added a new graphics engine and performance is top notch. Plus, the game play beats all other MMOG hands down in our opinion. Try it and see for yourself. You will be glad you did. Your girlfriend will not, as yall's "together time" will be limited now :)

When noone else has posted, it's pointless to repost if yours is the last post.
This game is how much per month? I'd love to try it out... but I guess there aren't any free trials around.

Was a pretty ass game back in the day. You can upgrade the graphics all you want but the core game mechanics were very inaccessable and, my god... the bugs. The bugs held the game back like a tight seatbelt. There's not much incentive for pilots to fly safe when they can fly through the ground. Contacting other players was also FUBAR.
If they have a demo, by all means try it. But from what he's saying, they're just buffing the graphics, which change nothing because the game was terrible to begin with.

PS has way more bugs than WWIIOL has now. It had a crappy release and the game play has become VERY advanced! You have to play it with a squad to understand it. Zerging gets you know where in WWIIOL. If you do not work as a team you lose!
I'll see if there is a demo availabel....

I'll see if there is a demo availabel....Prehaps so. However, my concerns that the gameplay mechanics are FUBAR are still very valid. It's absurdly complicated to get a vehicle crew going when compared to Planetside, Walks and even drives are very long even if you are in a vehicle, and in general, the interface is very clunky. Battles are unbalanced in the sense that it's either a raging firefight and you're dead in a instant, or you're walking alone to the next city. The firebases that are supposed to shorten the walk don't help much either.

WWIIOL promotes teamwork so you must play with a squad. then you get all the multi crews you want. Multicrewing a destroyer is fun beyond all imagination!

Don't worry, PS gets plugs in our forums too.
We are all just gamers telling eachother about other "fixes" out there :)

I would have loved to start or join a squad but I couldn't because the radio system was FUBAR. I still have no idea how that thing works. PS' simplicity works better because it's intuitive. WWIIOL isn't.
But, on the positive side, does this mean SG is leaving PS?

SG has multiple portals not just PS. We have a big presence in WWIIOL, PS, SWG and our Soldner and WOW portals have huge numbers waiting for release!
www.sghq.com See for your self. If you do try WWIIOL we would be glad to get ya caught back up to speed over TS.

blah, SG. everytime I join you guys turn me down. I had a top-notch resume for you guys too. I might try WWIIO, its like 10 bucks. I heard the realism destroys the fun. likke to drive a jeep you have to get in, start it, 1 button to shift up, another to shift down, and another to turn it off. I perfer the BF1942 "WASD" scheme. o well, Ill give it a try.

I must seriously reinforce my advice to PSU: Try the demo, if you like it, fair enough. But if not, save your money for Battlefield: Vietnam, a game with infinitely greater teamplay potential.
Darn the 14-day trail thing is over.

Yes, its a very good game except for the grafics, but its all changing. WW2OL is my dads favorite game, hes had it since it came out, its come a long way.
You also have to give it the fact that the company that made it is only a group of guys that quit other good companies, made their own, and then made this game, they didnt even have the money to keep working on it so they had to release it very early.
In fact, I might go play some right now...

Ok... so the game went from asstastic to asstastic with a sidedish of graphical fun?
A year and a half ago when I tried it, it was still pure shit can't understand why it would change.

looks like it could be fun after the graphics upgrade. I like how it actually goes through the whole course of the war, but its still in 1940 France? can't wait for the asia-pacific threatre. I'll buy it. I have an extra best buy gift card, and nothing is really out (that I dont have  ) so I guess its worth putting down 30 bucks for.

Keep us posted on the trial please, It looks intresting.
I would like to see some screenshots and ingame movies if thats possible.
Edit: The current SS's I have is where the graphics are really bad. I went to About WWII Online and clicked SS's. Is that the new updated system or is there a new one comming out? Like you said?

The terrain is getting a new face lift in a week and CRS will be adding the latest graphics in every new patch (1 a month)
