There is also Ventrilo which is Not as popular but more Banwidth friendly and better quality. But same situation gotta find some1 with a server

Ventrilo isn't more bandwidth friendly nor does it have better quality than TS, it all depends upon the codec. Most TS servers are set to use a low bandwidth codec at a low KHz, therfore, low quality, low bandwidth. Ventrilo and TS share alot of the same codecs, however TS offers more codecs, some with really low bandwidth usage (low range CELP codec), others with higher quality than an analog phone line (Speex). The high quality Ventrilo codecs are GSM codecs which TS also has. TS is more configurable on the server side and multi-platform. The only thing Ventrilo out does TS in is memory usage, TS uses about twice as much as Ventrilo.

Of course the downside to both programs is hearing the players who haven't hit puberty yet screaming in your ear with their high pitched voices while you are trying to hear your commanders orders
My old outfit had an age rule to keep them out, but occasionaly they would let someone younger in, and let me tell you, having a 12yo who sounds like an 8yo girl screaming in your ear on TS for a couple of hours makes you rethink the benefits of voice programs.
it asks for Server adress, nickname, login name and password what am i sopposed to fill in them!?!?

it asks for Server adress, nickname, login name and password what am i sopposed to fill in them!?!? :confused:Server name is a description for your benefit so you can keep track of who's who, Server address is the domain name or IP address of the server you wish to connect to, nickname is how you want your name displayed to others when you join. Login name/password is used once you register on that server (so you can reserve your name and hold priviledges given there). If you haven't registered yet, you leave the login name out and pick Anonymous. If the server is passworded, you will need to fill in the password for joining the server (applies to anonymous joins as after you register, your login/password allows you to gain access rather than the server join password). That help? :)
i got vertilo thing instead, but it aint workin either... :(

DMX, you can't just open TS/Ventrillio and expect to talk to all the people in Planetside. First, join an outfit that has a dedicated TS server, they will give you the server address, and the password. The login name is not required unless you register with the server you are playing on.
BTW, my outfits' TS server is I think, 24.6 KHz codec. I think that is one of the highest there is.

I just was looking at our TS codec, we run at 16.4 Khrz. Made it look better than it is, my fault.
