What if you could use two of the same weapons at the same time. this would apply to empire specific rifles and pistols. ex. rexo armor. gauss in 2 and 4 positions. pressing 2=1 regular gauss rifle same as always. press 4=two gauss rifles one on right, one on left. there are two larger and overlapping cones of fire (kinda like a venn diagram) pressing reload, reloads both guns which takes twice as long and if ammo levels are un equal and one hits zero first it will switch to only one gun fire till ammo is reloaded. if there isnt enough ammo in inventory to fill both guns it will be distributed evenly. all this applies to empire specific rifles and pistols as well as ememy empire specific rifles and pistols. however this will not work for mixed and matched weapons. (only cycler&cycler,beamer&beamer ect.)

1 mAG scatters will do more damage then a jackhammer.
if you had dual pistols, or even knives, it'll be very small arms ownage all around.

dude, we been through this kind of post before... it is a realy bad idea.
SOMEHOW, all the whiners would find one little thing that gives it an advantage, and they'd cry like hell.

EDIT forgot reasons: Absolutly un realistic there is no way you could aim the things, far to powerfull, a gauss with 2x the clip would own very hard, and a dual scatter would be better than a JH

cool idea but can you imagine twice as many bullets flying around. There are more than enough things to dodge lets not make it more. If dual weapons were to be put in it would prob only be like pistols. Put 2 slots for cloakers but the second could only be for a pistol.

God, I can just see the globs of drool that Infs would be 'emitting' if this was added... Dual Repeater 'sniping': it'd be beyond DL range, and it'd do serious damage.

Absolutely not on any rifle. I can make the leap on duel pistols if you have the m. booster implant, but over that, I'd prefer a riot shield where you could use a pistol.

Realistically if the shield got support for it, you could use a rifle with it too, with the shield acting as the 2nd arm on the rifle. And move the shield with the rifle when you aim. Would make it more difficult to aim of course, slower moving aiming perhaps.

See people seem to forget that twice the ammo kicked off generaly means twice the ammo that misses the target. Shoot less hit more is a damn good maxim.

Ahh. i think it would be a good idea, provided it only allows the user to use two Suppressors, two Beamers, two grenades, or two TR-pistol thingys only? But not Mag Scatters because they are too powerful for their own good. :lol:
It would be fun in my opinion, people using the weapon least used, because they can use them in a interesting way.

I'd have to go ahead and so no on the dual weapons. In concept its a great idea; however, the problems caused by having two guns would be tremendous. Think about it. 1) It would be limited to handguns, since there's no WAY a human could withstand the recoil of two Gauss/Cycler/Puslar's. 2) Like someone said before, there are enough bullets whizzing around peoples heads as it is, lets not make more. 3) It's impracticle for anyone to use it. Normal grunts will prefer single rifles/shotguns etc, and cloakers would benefit much more from dual slots with 1 gun and an REK.

oh, and it's obvious you've never heald a rifle not to mention shoot. it is impossible to aim with one hand when you're using a rifle, your hands will get torn right off.

I agree with Cryptica's assessment. It's a cool idea but would cause lots of game balance issues. If it were implimented I'd put for following limitations on it...
1. only pistols dould be dual wielded (no knives as you can only carry 1 and no rifles)
2. only agile or rexo users could use this tactic (2 pistol slots are needed - sorry standards and cloakers)
3. using 2 pistols should increase the rate of fire slightly alternating shots between weapons. The main advantage it would give is to effectively double the ammo capacity by allowing you to empty 2 full clips before needing a reload.
4. reloading would automatically holster one weapon to free the hand to reload the other pistol and then reload that one pistol. To reload the other pistol you would have to holster the one in hand, equip the other pistol, and manually reload it. Once done you could then draw both pistols and start over... this would take forever...
5. The above would limit dual pistols to the heavier infantry guys and give them an option to have a somewhat effective backup attack when their main weapon runs out of ammo... rather than reload they could draw pistols and continue... once they empty the pistols it's reload party time... lol
Of course then this would bring up another problem... the logic of adding this to support med applicators and BANK engineering tools... could a "dual wielding" support guy heal and fix armor at the same time or use 2 of the same device to double healing/repair rates? LOL... um, NO!

Ever played Return to Castle Wolfenstein? That had a very cool Dual Colt .45 ACP reloading animation, that was (if I remember correctly) 1.5 times longer than the single colt reload. However, this animation could only work for the beamer or the repeater, it isn't practical for the AMP or the Mag Scatter.

I think >A< weapon made for dual weilding would be cool, such as matched, slow firing combat revolvers with a high caliber, or a having dual weilding of pistols require certifications, dual assualt or heavy weapons are impracticle and impossible, but I dont see why pistols cant be, the damage and COF would have to be changed so they are not overpowered, but man, dual pistols would be FUN :D

with two pistols your COF better be the size of a a barn door, as thats how good your accuracy is with two pistols and no stabilizer.
The way planetside does pistols is acctualy a good way, whit both hands on the gun, as thats how they should be fired.
Nobody uses two pistols except people in movies and people that are dumb enough to think movies are realistic

No Dual weapons, why...1)Dual gausses OMFG one gauss is already overpowered, it kills a friggin Rexo in 6 shots test it. 2) Dual pulsars OMFGX2 that would be sheit
3)Duak cyclers, TO INNACURATE 4) Dual JackHammers hopefully i will never see that in my life 1 is already overpowered but the NC whine to get it buffed all the time, but the devs Nerfed it and ever since quad shot was abolished ive never seen half the pld NC CR5's, on werner, VIRU5 relied on it 5) Dual lashers admit it lasher is too powerful wit new buff 1 is enough 6) Dual MCG's to innacurate, the recoil would be too much for a normal human+all the NC would whine about it even though it was perfectly fair and it would get super nerf

Also though this is of the agenda, Dual Cycler MAX should be the fucking AT not the pounder the Devs are just plain stupid, Pounder is the only TR decent MAX all the rest suck cept burster now that sucks, Burster shells SHOULD explode on the ground its simple sceince Explosive+Impact=Explosion--------Explosive+Solidgroud=Explosion

Please don't double post.
As for the Burster, they change that to force people to use as it's intended to be: Anti-Aircraft
You have to be desperate if you need to use on ground troops, and as the burster shells are pre-programmed to detonated at a certain altitude to maximized damage to aircrafts around it. Aircraft shells aren't design like normal shells that detonate upon impact.
(well that's my theory)
