I have the P4C800-E and i cant get the raid set up with the SATAs. Or more accuratly i cant get it to have a drive name so the operating system will install on it. I set it up in the bios, then ran teh Western Digital lifeguard tool to set it up more. It said it formated it but its just called drive one and the operating system says No drive found after every attempt to install(Windows XP Pro Raw installation). The book for the mobo says to use the intels drivers setup program but i cant find it or the one i have doesnt give you the ability to access it like it should. And im now running my processor at 91 degrees and rising as i do it becuase i have to put some thermal paste under the HSF real quick. Anyone have one of there like boards and have a raid?
That was my bios tempurature. Was that high for a 2.4 celron. I have that round Zalmans fan on it without any thremal grease yet. I turned off the comp for a while. It started at 88-89 degrees.

Do you know the name of the right Intel raid drivers for this? The ones they kept advertising for it.
And thats 33 degrees celsius.

I couldnt get it to access the Mobos CD and the Hardrives was just the thing i already did. Did you have to access it priar to your OS instilation? I have to put on some thermal paste before i start it up again anyway.

*sigh*
Most common SATA problem!
Goto the ASUS website, and get the drivers from the download section, unzip and stick on a floppy disk.
When you goto install windows, it will say "press F6 (I think its F6) to install 3rd party raid drivers"
Press F6 or whatever it is, insert floppy, grab drivers from floppy, install windows, enjoy.

Yea i was going to install windows real quick but i ran into some problems, namely I cant find my floppy disks, or i would have tried one of intels programs before i even asked ( that and i forgot i unplugged the damn flppy drive when i tried it on this this one that had someone esles stuff on it.) The processor ran at an even tempurature for some time. I was turning the sytem on and off too so it wasnt on more than 10 minutes if that. :fu: :) get over yourselves.
Oh, also if any of you have my case did you have a problem with the front led lights not working after a while? Im not really sure when or why they stopped. could be from the board too. The connections were all on solidly. IM not sure what happened to them.

so ait, where's this awesome computer thats going to be used for Engineering and gaming. Did you get 2 video cards so you can game and be a comp engineer? does it have 2 gigs of registered ram? (srry but this is just pent up anger at his stupidity.)

Well obviously since i cant get a mobo with two agp slots that wasnt going to happen. :ugh: And i wanted to render for CGI and other 3d visuals not for engineering and cad. Im going to be getting a degree in engineering, well, its that or not have enough money to eat. With my circumstances atleast. But it sure as hell is good for DVD and sound editing. :D And as a theatre once i can hook up the damn speakers.

Ok, Im to damn tired to go over all of XP yet. its sloppy as hell as far as settings go. :ugh: Where is the stuff to screw with your hard drives and partitions. And how do you specifically make a raid without deleting the old info. Im guessing they had and auto thing so i dont have to fucking save it all in a backup on one of the drives.
I have to rehook the SATAs to the Raid SATS slots on the board i have too(the SATAs with the controler is seperate from the normal ones). Anyone have bets on whether i can do it without "reformating"? or know?
