help a newb please

Hi i have a very quick question about ammo in the game...I have heavy assualt and i use within that the jackhammer...now when i go to the weapon part on the machine and scroll down it shows the jackhammer with two types of ammo next to it..white one which is normal and gold one which i assume hits for more...now my question is can i use the gold ammo, because every time i get the gold ammo it does not say i have it according to the shotgun ammo...so can i not use the gold type ammo with my shotgun...i also have this problem with other weapons as well...please help.

The gold crap is 'armor piercing' ammo, you are better off without it, especially if you have Anti-Vehicular...

But, IIRC, you use X to switch...

yea dont use gold ammo. but if u decide to press x to switch.

What are you guys talking about? A JH with anti armor rounds can be devistating to a max if used properly. Its great for those of us with out AV.

its rubbish. Only Vanu can use Armour piercing proper, thats because it's so easy to switch.

White - Infantry killer or AI
Gold - MAX killer and veh killer or AP

i done a real dumb thing when i started and only used armour piercing cos i miss read what they both were, took me till BR 12 o realise, i just thought it was a real tough game, used to take about 2-3 reloads to kill 1 person.

looking back now i can laugh but at the time i couldnt understand why i was so easy to be killed but couldnt kill anyone else...

Use Gold (armor piercing) on all hard targets for faster takedown. Mine, Spits, Motion Detector, Vehicles, MAX's, etc. While small arms fire isn't very effective against a lot of these targets, it's even less so if you try using White (anti-infantry) ammo.

ok, when i was playing a nc char i had a jh and it had ap ammo... well i jumped onto a lightning shelling our base and killed him really quickly... just keep a box of it if you feel like it.
