How about a rebreather implant so you can stay underwater for a substantial amount of time without drowning?

Thoughts

hmm, yeah may be if you could shoot from under water too

To what end? Why bother if it doesn't really add to gameplay?

It give a sense of being unique?

It give a sense of being unique?Thats fine with me but I won't be picking up that useless implant.

Edit--Maybe it could be used for a cloaker trying to avoid detection and hides underwater for a substantial amount of time, that would work. Thoughts?

Whilst it'd be a lifesaver if you had to bail over water it doesn't really offer much else.

Maybe so, but it could be usefull if there was a squad that all had it they could effectively cross a lake together to flank a base. However, in comparison to other options i guess it wouldn't be very practical.

EDIT- it could be very usefull to some one carrying an LLU.

I know it is still relatively new, but we have this new vehicle called a Deliverer...

Amphibious assults? Takes away some of the Magmowers power. I mean, gal drop in the sea... no one is ever gonna think of that. Untill they do it like 5 times. It certainly would be a tactical implant. Useable on certain ops.

It might be cool. Aside from the coolness factor I would say it has limited use. You could use it with certain ops, but if I were to pick it, it would be my third choice.

It would be a wast of implant space, it would only be good if you need to get out of the water. They (i.e. planetside creators) should increase your running speed under water so you dont drown if you have to bail into it.

It was more to do with the tactical options it could add to the gameplay .

Example: to organise an underwater squad that could all go together instead of crossing the bridge and negate the futility of constantly getting fucked trying to cross an obvious pinchpoint.

Thanks for the thought some of you put into a new suggestion and typically bollocks to the non thinking smartarses. There are plenty of implants that I consider pretty fucking useless anyway.

I can see times that it would come in useful, but unfortunately it would be seldom enough I wouldn't want to take a slot with it the vast majority of the time. It would be fun for the bridge battles south of Gunuku though, I already get a good amount of kills stabbing people under the water. Not having to head to shore to bring the oxygen meter up would be very helpful. Unfortunately about the only time I could see using the implant is knowing I was about to head to Gunuku and seeing a giant hotspot at the south bridge, grab the implant for an hour and go to town.

Someone hit a nerve.

The reason I said it offers no advantage is because you're so bloody slow underwater. Like noodles said, it would just be impractical.

You'd also require the whole squad to have that implant.

Even if it gave you faster speed underwater, more breathing time, and the ability to fire, it still would be VERY situational. It could be used to some extent, but I don't think it really would be used enough for it to be worth being added to the game.

A cloakers dream. Being able to run farther away from the bridges under water and surprise attacking them from behind.
