Why the hell would anyone vote for ie, when there are 50 better choices out there, and they're free.

Nice and streamlined, tabbed browsing, minimize browser and hide from program tray with a simple alt+ ~
built on IE. Built in pop up blocker, download manager (defaults to off...turn it on if you want it)
Super Drag&Drop (http://www.myie2.com/html_en/tour/03superdragdrop.htm)
Google toolbar support
External Utlitity Toolbar (http://www.myie2.com/html_en/tour/08exttools.htm)
Skinning support
Mouse Gestures (http://www.myie2.com/html_en/tour/02mousegesture.htm)
And you can still plug in tons of extra stuff.
Avant Browser (www.avantbrowser.com) it's like a mod of IE with a lot of the same features but some other good ones that IE doesn't have like tabbed pages, built in pop-up blocker, and the ability to not show flash animations and images.

Personally I use both avant and opera because I have so many windows tabbed, and if either browser were to have that many windows on them at one time, it would cause huge slow-downs. Each has their unique weaknesses and strengths, for Opera, it does not support every type of online media, but your tabbed windows will stay in the order that you put them, and it has some cool features for right clicking (Copy image address, copy link address) I find those 2 very handy personally, plus it will run quite a bit faster than IE if you limit the amout of windows you tab into it. It has a good built-in popup stopper, and lets you save "sessions" or groups of tabbed windows, somewhat similair to the winamp playlist.
Next off, Avant, avant is very close to IE in visual aspects and other aspects, why? Because it is simply an add-on to IE. Avant will support pretty much any type of online media that your IE supports, you can even use the google toolbar on avant if you want. However, avant does not load any faster than IE does, and Avant's tabbing system is somewhat confusing. Your windows will never be in the same order twice in a row after closing and opening avant.
Avant also supports some kind of form-filler software, but it's only a trial then they want you to pay for it. Almost forgot to mention, opera has a "magic wand" button that when pressed will automatically enter your username and password for various sites. First of all you enter your password, then the browser will ask you if you want to save it as a "wand" password. This feature works on most sites, and is quite handy.
Just some words from someone with experience.

Mozilla: mail client, irc client, popup blocker and easy google search type thing all in one nifty little free download. plus it works on mac so i can have it on this painfully low performance school laptop
