EDIT - Has anyone noticed the similarities between some of the battles in BoB and CoD?

Infinity Ward did use Enemy at the Gates and BoB for lots of the game levels. Includeing The Battle of the Bugle Level in the upcoming Allied Offensive.

first and foremost, none of it was better than anything else, it was real, please remember that, 2nd battalion 506th 101st airborne had a 150% casualty amount, that means, their troops were either killed or wounded 240 times, though several were wounded several times, one 4 times. also, it really erks me when someone says there is a similarity between the game and the series, when it actualy happened. apparently infinity ward decided to use actualy battles, just about every battle you fight in that game happens, excluding as far as i know, the SAS and the later american missions. pegusis bridge, brecourt mannor, stalingrad, all that did happen. i know this may seem somewhat "nazi" to you, but after i read the book, i have a whole new respect for the men.
EDIT, though they never say spears did shoot them, there are 2 things i do have to say about it
A) before they jumped they were ordered to take no prisoners
B) every soldier that heard that story always heard it from a friend that heard if from a friend that was there. that was noted in the book.

it wasnt just easy company that did this, it was the 327th glider infantry regiment from the north and the 501st from the north east, while the 506th would swing around and attack from the south. and when they did attack, they had fox company attack with them, with dog in reserve.
And the 506th is the regiment easy was apart of. 2nd battalion to be exact.

thats how i know the previously mentioned stuff, ive said it a million times, read the fucking book, now. and all im really trying to say, is that while it may be a kick ass show, each of those battles happened, and each man that died, really did die, and in the way it was shown, remember that when you watch the series.

The interviews are on the DVDS. My advice is read the book and then sit down and watch the shows again. For example, in the battle where the Germans beat the Americans (not sure if Bastogne). It is the one where the paratroopers pull out. In the book they talk about how they were on leave when they got pulled into action. All the resources form all across Europe were sent into this campaign. If they were successfull the would have ended the war in a few months. As it were, they lost mightily which cost them many, many, many months of war. In the book you get the magnitude of what was occuring, while in the shows you only get the feeling that it was a small engagement.
I admit I got goosebumps numerous times when reading the books.

Some pics of when I visited Bastogne. The 101st Airborne defended honorably there as seen in the BoB series. Those are the woods they fought in. I was stationed in Germany and drove down there.
