666th is the Biggest Outfit, how do you feel about it?

The NC would be a terrible waste of putty without them. The guys do an excellent job of introducing new players to the world of planetside. Though I don't always agree with evilpig in command chat I recognize the fact that he does (did, he's not been around much) an outstanding job with so many people.
Hell, even I was in the 666th for about two weeks when I first started. Just couldn't stand the fact that whenever I would try to tell people something that was happening, I'd get brushed aside due to the massive amounts of people on.

I've come across them on the field before. Very organised.

I personaly feel they hinder the NC on Markov by creating a bandwagon thing, go with the devildoggs or there will be no fight. We end up concentraing on one cont and get owned everyware else

yea, but the devil dogs are a nice group of people, as big as they are. I know what its like to be in the black hawks Rbstr, with like, 20 people at times lol, I used to command it, but you cant hate the devil dogs because of their sheer size. we need outfits like that to keep operations on a semi-coordinated level.

That really makes no sense.
I speak with the 666th guys on command chat often and what you're describing is not how they work. They try to keep their guys together which at peak can reach two platoons (60 people) which is not enough to even fill a continent half way. So accusing the 666th as the reason that we focus on one continent makes little sense.

I agree with pengy. I don't have any problem with the 666th. Now i have to admit that i know only the CR5 in the 666th. Everytime i try and ask one of them for something in /c they always try and help. And if there's ever a problem with one of their members i just bring it up with Cogburn and it get looked after right away.
I know almost everyone has an issue with the 666th but i think they're a huge asset for the NC.

They all look the same. I considered though of finding someone in 666th and making my nc player join, like hell though I rather play with my TR guy.
I have heard good stuff about them. Better than D2A. (highest TR outfit, my old outfit was once second with them but then it died and slowly fell off the leaderboard first size then points)

They can be a big help at times and usually that is what happens. They have a large organized outfit that can be very effective but what would help even more is if all of the nc outfits worked together to cap not just a single cont but the entire globe. However i dont see this happening any time soon so it will have to wait, quite awhile.
I think that they certainly get the job done. I've played with them and I don't know what makes people think/say that because an outfit is huge and the size of a zerg (this does not mean a zerg outfit) it actually makes playing with them even funner. You always have a squad, a lot of divisions running at all times, and huge operations every Saturday.

The only time it will happen is when everyone is on. And since its spread out, i dont think that'll happen any time soon.
Though if they could possibly get about 3/4 of them on, and make pacts with other outfits (get one outfit with a secific group of 666th people to conquer a continent), they can rule.

People hate on the 666th because there is ALOT of noobs in the outfit. They forget there is also some very good players aswell.
I think they are good for Markov NC and for PlanetSide as a whole, gives noobs a home as soon as they join the game. An organized home aswell, giving them a good experience from the word go. They have TS, they help their new recruits, they have some decent CR5s.

I love all my teamates. I have been in the 666th going on 3 months now and normally (just on teamspeak) we have around 60-80 guys on a normal night and on weekends a lot more. Some people are in it and refuse to get teamspeak or even follow the outfit and we dont do anything about it which kinda irritates me but to each his own.

I've created an alt on Markov, NC, and joined them just to investigate. Not quite what everyone says about them. Out of over two-thousand less than 1/4 of them are active, having logged on in the last 10 days, and they normally have about 1 platoon going on average each night. Not trying to "dis" them though. I've also seen them wip some serious ass when they can get a good amount of people on.

the devildogs are the biggest group of asswipes I know in planetside
not once have I ever seen them at something other than a zerg
they have 15+ Cr4-5's and never lack an OS
playing against them is boring because of the huge mass of newbs they control
playing with them is annoying because of the huge mass of newbs they control

They can get the job done. mass casualties. big neon sign saying "WE ARE HERE ALL FLAILS AIM THIS WAY". But they get the job done. ... they also make for a good distraction as TR and VS like to Counter Zerg allowing for Gen Kill squads to wreak havoc on their locked Cont's <.<, >.>, ^.^, -.o, o.o

The 666th are a formidable foe and it is for that do I respect them.
But their deadliness comes from sheer numbers. Rarely do I see (as their enemy) the tactical strategies that they are said to employ/have employed. I do not see them flanking us, I do not see them setting up ambushes, I do not see them cutting a dozen of generators at once. I do not see them outside of their zerg. Perhaps it is what you don't see that counts, but perhaps not.
Fighting the 666th is like fighting a MAX crash. Indvidually, Maxes are easily taken out, but in number, their combined number and damage output will level everything else in it's way.
I don't hate the 666th, I hate the weapons they are given.

not entirely true. the 666th do control a large number of soldiers in a battle, but what you dont see or here about is the elite group of guys in 1 or 2 platoons on op nights. we have gal dropped generators, taken down populated spawn rooms single handedly, and essentially turned the tide of the battle, with no more then a handful of men.

i personally have a great deal or respect for the 66th cause i have seen their tactical operations as well as their mass invasions. Though i do glowern at those former Hawks who joined them cause they didn't like having to conform to a more strict discipline structure with the new command

We may except anyone into our outfit, but we have some very good players. We don't just zerg continents, we zerg them in an orderly fashion. Even though we are a huge outfit we still have organization. We have soldiers trained in specifc divisions and they are good at what they do. So before you go flaming us because of numbers learn about what the 666th is about.

666th is a big zerg outfit, with 90% of guys i don`t care, because they eihher just stick with zerg or do their own stuff. BUT the vets are good players doing drops or trying to get us out of their gens :) .
they do have a scary number of ppl though i`m not sure how many ppl are actually online during a given night AND how many of these are actually doing what they`ve been told.
if there is any 666th commander, how many guys u REALLY have online, who participate in gendrops, etc...
just curious.

Never counted, but Ive seen over 200 on during operations. other then a few strays, almost everyone participates in our events. I have a few screenshots of op nights, with >10 Vanguards, 5 gals, over a dozen MAXes, and swarms of reavers. tis a beautiful site. :ncrocks:

D2A isnt an equivalent of the 666th. the 666th have MAXED OUT the outfit points, at 10 million. we have thousands of active members, most of which participate in outfit events regularly.

I have been in the 666th for a bit, joined when i was a bit of a noobtard. But us accepting noobs brings these noobs into 'fruition' if u will.
They turn into good players, in not too much time. We work as a unit, no matter what people say. Using teamspeak and outfit chat, we manage to keep 90% of the ppl who are online on target. Yes, we do attempt tactical moves, although they aren't always successful.
As a member of shadow team, i almost always have a specific objective given to me through our ts.
I  being part of the devil dogs, because of the organization, and cuz of the participation.

I was on Ascension over the weekend me and the one other guy in my outfit at the time saw from the HART that we were (again) getting our buts kicked by the NC, I play TR. We dropped in and hacked a tower way back from the fighting and CEed the place really well, then the 666th came on over with 3 vanguards and 20 or so grunts, we were shortly killed. They took the tower so we moved on, as we were prepping the last tower to take the load of TR zerg after our last base failed we saw something nice, a TR hack on a NC base. However we shortly witnessed count em 25 MAXes running to resecure, I took them under fire because I was bored, did damage, none of them stopped they all kept running to resecure. It too was the 666th; I have much respect for them.

Curious to see who you think is more hated...
I found them to be an obnoxious zergfest, but to be fair they have done some good for the NC. Also, there's bound to be bad blood against the 666 just because of how many offshoots there have been. From my memory, each offshoot has an offshoot.
666 > The Mobile Infantry > Horsemen of Apocalypse > NC Spec Ops > (there might be another)

666 has nothing on KOTOR
Also NC Spec Ops is at the bottom of a very large food chain, right along side rats and other small vermin, maybe they were better before markov/emerald merge, but trash like them deserve no credit in anything.

Yeah the douchebag-to-decent-human ratio has always been WAY higher on NC than the other 2 empires.
That said I never really had anything against the 666th. TBH other than having the weight of large numbers to push around they didn't really leave that much of an impression on me back in the day. Certainly nothing like HT, for example.

All the 666th did really was mindless zerg or when they actually did plan something, it generally just ruined what the rest of us were trying to do. EVILPIG isn't a bad guy, but he had a bad habit of presuming the entire empire had to follow him and throwing a fit when they ignored him and listened to the guys who they had been fighting with the last six hours.
The 666th has the distinction of being the only outfit I'd never have joined in any lifetime.
I did enjoy seeing a MAX Crash once or twice though, but that got old when it became the only 'tactic' they ever did.

Interesting to see this thread, not sure if I ever saw it before. The 666th was an open outfit who took in any soldier, attempted to refine them and apply them to the battlefield. Many great players came up with us. Our real activity was during the first few years of Planetside, so many here never really knew us. We organized en masse and executed well. We ran divisions that were familar to most and some others knew not much about. We are proud to have invented the MAX Crash Team and plan to revisit the strategy in Planetside 2. An interesting evolution to the MCT that is little known outside the 666th is that originally it was developed as a slow moving methodical force that pushed through a base with infiltrating medic/engineers picking the MAXes back up as they fell.
Eventually, as I started to work with other outfits (After MARKOV won the E3 event) we put the rest of the outfit on autopilot as I and the other outfits I worked with transcended outfit tags and just became "Planetside" players. Our outfits will reform and we will continue to enjoy coordinated fun.
