I know that Planetside is USA based, but dont you think that it's not fair to hold a "Fan Faire" in USA in San Diego. What about all of us in the UK, do you expect us to pay 500 ish on flight costs, 50 - 100 on hotel and meals, and the
$100 (50 - 75) for the faire.
Some of the older players (i.e. +20) could proboly go if they wanted, but what about all the young players, it would cost me 600 - 675, and I need my perents permision to go (which they wont let me).
So you (i.e. planetside makers) should ask each country (UK and USA) what they think, USA could turn it down, but people in the UK might like it, or vicer vercer.

well I thought San diego was a stupid place to hold it in the first place not everyone that plays lives on the west coast. (I live on the east coast) I thought it should either be held in the mid-west or the east coast (to accomdate the EU players) Chicago would have been nice or Philadelphia or New York all with in the same range of the majority of the players (then again I might be a little biased I live in Jersey after all)

ummm....

I doubt they're really expecting people to be taking excessive trips for this. Game is based in Cali and I think it works best holding it there.

California? On the west coast?! I rather it was on the east coast. At leased it'll cut the travel time flying over the pond, and over the rest of the USA....not to mention how expensive it would be....

I can see the meeting now:
Mrs Manager "We need some money"
Mr Manager "Throw a cheap party, make people pay for it, say 100 bucks"
Mrs Manager "How will we hook people for 100 bucks?"
Mr Manager "Tempt them with activities, mention paintball"

lol i sometimes wander how people who created such a fantastic game just dont seem to have much sense at all.

I forsee a message saying "Demand for Planetside Faire was not enough to dedicate valuable resources to its go-ahead"

Perhaps im just being cruel, i am a loyal fan of the Devs and understand that they have time/money constraints...but with things like Core Combat (Dont even get me started) and now a Fan Faire which 90% of the already dwindling playerbase cannot attend...my faith is starting to faulter.

I wouldnt knock on the SOE: Planetside managers door, lest i find a chimpanzee scratching his balls instead of an actual competent businessman.

Well...to sum up im dissapointed with this latest stunt, some may say their showing interest in the fans of this game, but thats just utter pap.
If anything this game needs advertising, i know that costs a lot, but it would be worth it in the long run.

I've been to an EQ fan faire (ugh, don't ask.) It's basically a bunch of drunks talking about <insert expletive here>

yes but guess what. Most of the players are here in the US. Its all about money and attendies. Where there are more people there is more money. And since SOE is a bunch of cheap bastards(Jk i love you guys) they are going to put it where the biggest server is.

SOE headquarters is in San Diego and thats where the party is. You can survive without spending all that money.

Yup, the gaming industry is essentially a West Coast industry. The price will turn away a lot of people, but you can't throw a big party for free...

There are plenty of EQ players overseas and the last FF was in Las Vegas. It's pretty simple you cannot please everyone, if you could then the world would be perfect :p

I wonder if you noticed that all they're doing is asking people if they're interested. They haven't planned shit.
