Hey all. I'm an old PS player from back in the Johari days. I decided to quit due to the incredible bug problem coupled with the cost. My question is, Have the devs pulled it together and fixed the crashing problems? Also do i need Core Combat to play now? I loved playing PS back in the day and i would love to get back in but i definately would like some imput from current players if its worth getting back in.
By the way my computer is a little old but i think it should still play it.
2.3 something gig pentium 4
512 ram
256 nvidia geforce 4 i think (might be 512)
Just asking and could use any input havent played a game like planetside in a long time.
Thanks
Farva

dude come back its worth it. the devs are doing a good job. you dont need core combat. its not worth it unless you want new weapons. if you need anything eles like whats new we will help you.

It's well worth the return. Just make sure you buy more RAM before you do. Like, a gig more.

Hi there, Farva. You can view this thread here to see what the Devs have cooked up since you've been gone:

If you can get another 256mb of RAM, go for it. More ram is always good. Other than that, your system should run great. I haven't crashed in so long I'm forgetting if I ever did. And you don't need Core Combat to enjoy PS, although it does add some cool stuff, and if you go to Outpost.com you can get it for $10.

You can't get the battles that are in PS anywhere else.

Farva, more RAM would be good, but it's not necessary. I play with only 512 RAM as well, and I don't get hardly any lag.

I have never had crahing problems with this game but, i woudl say the bugs other people complain about are mostly gone, for me its runs faster now too. I would not get 256mbs of ram get 512 to match what you have, also 256mb vidoe card means nothing expect it new, it could be a 5200 and that would mean your doomed as far as FPS goes
EDIT and no 512mb cards exist for mainsteam usage
