Cant post there unless you're a subcribing member. Im getting the game soon anyways.

I am on the 7 day free trial and after the 2.6 patch and the 2.5 rollback, my PS is going nuts. I dont know what the 2.6 patch did to it but it certainly screwed it up cause now it is locking up every 10 or 15 mins. First the screen starts to lag really bad then you cant move at all and then it crashes back to desktop. PS was running fine before the patch and I would like to see if I can fix the game before buying it. Im sure I would get better help from the Techs at the official PS forum but I cant post there so Im trying my luck here. ( Not saying you guys are bad, its just that they're getting payed to fix our problems so they go that extra mile. ) Here are my specs..

AMD Athlon XP 2600 1.9ghz; Windows XP
512mb RAM
NVIDIA Geforce FX5200 128 mb AGP
DirectX 9.0b; Cable Connection

I haven't heard anyone having that problem, you may want to try a full scan, and update your Video drivers, get the 56.72's from www.guru3d.com (the standard versioin not the starstorm)

Downloaded the 56.72 for Geforce that was NOT the Starstorm ( Forceware I believe ) and installed it. Restarted my comp and started up PS. In about 10 mins it locked up again. And what exactly do you mean by full scan? Dont get freaked out but Im not an expertise when it comes to computers.

He means a fullscan from the PlanetSide launch pad, the buttons should be on the bottom right after you log in. Try a reinstall (painful, lots of d/ling :(), but it might clear it up. Sounds like something got corrupted.

full scan is a button on the Ps launcher when it updates its in the bottom corner.

that is the right driver, random CTD's are just very hard to place with anything. especialy if you haven't played before and don't have a refference to revert back to with regard to computer settings
