I just got in to the city of heros beta. I like the RPG concept, but CoH just dosen't do it for me. What other MMORPG's would you guys suggest for me to try?

What are you looking for? For something cool, but different I would suggest Neocron. That was a fairly cool game.

Eve sounded good until I looked it up on Gamespot. Sounds like too much mining. I wan't something that is easy to get into. I have a very short attention span for RPG's and if it dosen't hook me right away it ends up on the shelf. The only MMORPG's that have managed to do that for me so far are: Diablo II, Phantasy Star Online (The orignal one for dreamcast. Not the fansy shmancy gamecube version.), and Runescape (hey, i was like 10 at the time.)
I don't know what it was about those games, but they were really fun for a long time. I have had asheron's call suggested to me by a friend. What do you guys think of it? What about the online Final Fantasy one?
Is that offer open to everyone?
yes...

What about the online Final Fantasy one?
no no no no no!!!!!! you say you have no time to play? then this isnt the one for you!
and EVE does take up alot of time, but its not all about mining, infact, when you get down to it, its all about the corperation wars, though, inorder to run a corp, you will need to mine alot, but hey, its apart of the game, and if your in a good corp, others do it for you, but, as i said, eve takes up alot of time, 2 days to get the best frigate in the game, 10 days or so to get the crappiest cruiser, and about 3 months to get a battleship.
and most deffinatly not SWG, or EQ, or any of those other old MMORPGs, really, there is nothing besides PSO that i can think of. <3 DC PSO, it shall live forever in my memories.

FFXI doesn't take enormous time to get into. The first levels come rather quickly, and mining/resource getting isn't mandatory for a good while (yes I farm from orcs and stuff on occasion to get money and have also tried smithing). I'd reccomend it, it's really a blast, and you should get hooked rather quickly.

Hehe. Yeah it does.
Lvl main
get to lvl 16 or whatever it is.
Lvl sub
Get to lvl 30 with main
Get advanced jobs
Lvl advanced jobs
Realize that your main does not complement your new proposed main, your advanced job.
Lvl new sub for adv job to 30
You constently have to go back to the exact same damn place to lvl, 5 different times. Thats gay.

Yeah but that's fun! Plus it makes getting your advanced job that much more special. And if you plan what job you want to be, you can most of the time select your first jobb to be ur subjob (example: I wanted paladin so I chose warrior) This isn't true for all cases, but it will help many people. Regardless tho, it's one of the best MMORPG's out right now.
