Check out this "new" studio, it's pretty much westwood.
http://www.petroglyphgames.com/
Take a look at some of the projects their team members have done :o
http://www.petroglyphgames.com/aboutus.html
And the top secret project they are working on? Could it possibly Tiberian Twilight?
Who knows? But I'm excited!

Couldn't EA keep them from doing the next C&C game? They did buy them out, afterall.

I was under the impression that EA bought right to all WestWood games... EnB, C&C... everything...
Earth & Beyond (2002), EA / Westwood Studios
Well where were they two months ago when the game needed saving... instead they let EA close it...
Lands of Lore on Win3.1 roxx0red. I needed to tweak the autoexec.bat file just to run that badboy.

I played the hell out of the original C&C demo, I would kill everything but one building on the opposing team, then I would build a whole bunch of refineries and mine ALLLLL the minerals on the map.

Sweet. Some of my favorite games were by Westwood. Emperor: Battle for Dune, (RTS) Earth and Beyond (MMORPG I beta tested for over a year) and Command and Conquer ('nuff said).
Back in the beta, I used to play with the Devs in E&B. They liked to go incognito sometimes, but I got invited into a dev group one day and they eventually revealed they were Devs, but I wasn't allowed to tell anyone :( It was pretty cool having a nagifar (big space monster) beatin the poop out of me, and then have it suddenly just die as the Devs broke out their super powers (or sometimes they just used their uber god-like weapons :D ).
A really cool (and skilled) bunch of people, its good to see them back in the game industry.

You are Thinking of Tiberian Sun. Tiberian Twilight was supposed to have been the next non-red alert game in the C&C series. Apparently one of the concept artists working at westwood put up a whole bunch of concept art for TT on his website. But then he removed it quickly.

aparently he was a dev and was also the actor for kane in the FMVs that were in the game.

I just got a reply back from the PR rep at petroglyph. He says in the letter that 16 of the 18 team members worked at westwood studios. That is awesome news!

OK, heh. He didn't say in the e-mail if they hired Joe Kucan or not. I really couldn't say. He was the FMV director for Westwood, so unless they will be doing alot of those, I dont know if they would have a job for him.
Some employees I would like to see re-hired are: David Yee, Dan Cermack (Lead designer for renegade), Joe Kucan (FMV director/kane), Brett Sperry (Lead designer for the original C&C), and Frank Klepacki (Composer, made almost every song in for any westwood game, you can sample his tracks here: http://www.frankklepacki.com/).

It's possible. Most people are concerned about Tiberian Twilight right now, however. Yeah, the thing about renegade is that you needed to be playing with other people, the AI sucked harsh.

I wish I knew what some of the Devs names where. Like I said, I played alongside many of them during the beta test of Earth and Beyond, but they played incognito (not under their forum names). Its been a while, so I can't remember some of the names, but I do remember I playing with "Tatiana" (female Dev, thats all I know, well, unless it was a guy dev calling me "***" ) I also played alongside Radrac (I'm pretty sure he was lead developer, he was always busy tho, and the other ppl called him "Rad" in group chat despite the fact that he had some other name) There were also a couple others, but I can't remember names. I know there was a programmer of some sort that used to play in the group, and maybe an art dev. Whatever the case, they were definately an awesome bunch.
I have to say, playing alongside the Westwood Devs was one of the best gaming experiences I ever had. The funny thing is they were always asking me questions. "Hey, do you think these guys are too hard?" "What if projectiles were longer ranged?" and stuff like that. SO cool to be able to provide input directly back to them. I really wish I knew the names of those guys, and whether they are part of this new company now. I would seriously buy without hesitation any game they worked on. Though EA was a real bastard about E&B (I'm pretty sure they didn't get all the funding they needed) those people were so committed to making the game as fun and awesome as possible. I really hope they got new jobs in that company with high pay, they really deserve it.

Some people have been speculating that the publisher they have a deal with is infact EA. That could have positive and negative repricussions. Positive being that they are allowed to make C&C games, negative being EA might just close them also.

More like New Game based on Source Engine, everything HL will be ripped out of the game engine, and it will be rebuilt from the ground up as a new game. I.E. Total Conversion.
