What do you think your most used implant will be? (Remeber, you can switch implants without a time delay unlike we have with certs.)

this is extremely hard to just say. theres so much variation with it all. 'most used by a certain type' would narrow it down much more.

coming from a tribes background, i'm going to have a hard time living without the advanced targeting.. i just have to see names and health

I know what you mean. I still play T2. Mainly on Combat PA 3.0 T2 sever. (The cloaking packs seems alot like how PS's stealth suit will be.) But in T2, we all have, Advanced Targeting, Range Magnifier, and a 1 shot Regeneration.

Not regen or second wind becuase they will compete with eachother for usage I think.
I think the audio amplifier and darklighter vision will compete with eachother too.
I know I will want advanced targeting, but I am not so sure it will be real widely used.
surge will be secondary at best.
silent run will be mainly for infultrators, so will melee boost.
Personal shield might be up there, but I think almost everyone will use range magnifier.

As a MAX I'm going to use regeneration for those times without a medic. I might have 650 armor, but only 100 health so I want to keep most of that.

I'm gonna want the scope one with my rifle for making that shot that much easier :sniper:

With the current system being you get Implants at Battle Level 6, 12, & 18, everyone will be forced to use one at a time for about a month or so.

Having played I would say Regen and/or the Range Magnifier, that was a sweet implanet. Being able to zoom in is r33t :D

Various here, I probably will switch implants like a chick switches purses and shoes... depends on where I'm going and what I'm doing.

1. Range Magnifier/Melee Booster, depending on my plan for what I'm doing.
2. Surge/Silent Running, again depending.
3. Advanced Targeting, for planning and, in case of failure, see who I should watch out for later.

Advanced Targeting, then Darklight, and then Range Magnifier. I hope that implants affect vehicle sights/weapons too. Ex: You have a bigger range on the Skeeter chaingun.

I plan on using second-wind. Since I will be a medic, I figure I need something to save ME from death. Dont need regen, I can do that myself with med applicator, just need something to bring me back from the brink of death so I can use the med app.
I hope to get all the weapon magnification I need from a Cycler.

Does anyone know at what levels we can get implants.
Can we have an implant at level 1?
At what level do we get a second implant?
ect.

I would think all the sniper would have RM, along with alot of grunts, and maybe the pilots who wanna fight but don't wanna get to close.

the AGN shoutcast said that pilots and drivers could use implants like maxes, so you could be hovering in a reaver and lobbing rockets from a loooong way away with yer range magnifier. I think that if I go stealth, I will have melee booster, silent run, and regen. Melee cuz I wanna do damage with my knife's primary attack so as to not make noise, silent run to cancel out peeps with audio mags, and regen cuz I won't have a medic.
As for light assault, medic, med assault, I dunno

Personal Shield, simple that it will help you in a tank, and in air, so unlike most others that though will work in a tank, etc, they wont do much for you. The shiled though will be a good thing no matter what is going on.

Advanced Targeting 1st, then Audio Amplifier, and finally maybe a Range Magnifier.

i agree with falcon, Surge will deffinately be my first implant and the one i have on for the most time simply because i think it is the most usefull for what ill b doing

The personal shield will be my 1st because being able tolast that much longer in combat is worth the stamina drain and if I do use a Jackhammer I can throw on a shield and hopefully get in close enough where I can hit with just about every shot from the tri-barrel fire. My 2nd would probably be 2nd wind because I plan on really being combat oriented and I'd rather not have to worry about timing my regen correctly so I don't die and just have 2nd wind to bring me back up when down. I'm not sure what my 3rd will be though, probably Advanced Targeting.

My vote goes with the "Night Vision" deal.
Being the leader and Commander of a small 10-20 man outfit, I don't want to be out in the middle of a larger clan, such as DsV for example (If they ever pick a damn side)
So night missions would go well, if a second implant is in the works, I would lean to either Sound Mag or Advanced Targeting, then perhaps Range Magnifier..
I guess thats where I would stand on that topic...

As far as popularity goes, I'm thinking just about everyone will end up with an advanced targetting cert.
Pilots, grunts, snipers, infiltrators, commanders. Just about everyone can make use of it.
Other implants tend to be tailored (more or less) to a particular role:
Melee booster: I'm thinking it's going to be fairly popular with the infiltration crowd, but abscent out side it.
Shield implant: Really Popular with anyone on foot, but won't help someone inside a vehicle.
Regen & second wind: ditto
Audio amp & darklight vision: Useless to pilots... where the ground is often farther away than the max range of these implants. I can't imagine an audio amp working over engine noise anyway... (far future tech, yeah yeah).
Shield and second wind look to be mutually exclusive... no point in having both.
Defensive combat engineers/grease monkey types may not have much use for advanced targetting, but they're the only ones I can think of.

Im sorry, but I beg to differ, I think that the Shield implant is meant to be used with vehicles over anything else using them, I see only moderate reasons to use it on a normal guy, but if I can get my Tank, or Galaxy to have a shield for a few secs, now that is power! I know that I would rather have my vehicle have a shield then be able to read peoples names and tell their health. Just the way I see it anyway.

Seeing health would be great =p If there is a battle going on, being able to see who is already weak and vulch them with a few shots before they can get healed would be very good ability to have indeed. Not to mention, you would also be able to tell if you could tackle heavier armorer targets. See a MAX with full health? run... see a MAX with 25% health? engage.
Personal shielding will probably be a good thing as well though. i mean.. shield packs in t2 were great, but the drawback was that you didnt' want to waste your energy on shields because then you couldn't jet around. Well... you ain't jettin around anywhere in PS.. so you may as well be using that stamina to protect you.

for me my second choice woukd be the advanced targeting implant because what good is a gun if you cant hit the broad side of a barn with it.

I seriously doubt that the "PERSONAL shield implant" will be able to protect your vehicle.
My argument stands.

the personal shield implant backs you up and nothing else. it will not be useful for sort of vehicle in the game.

advanced targeting won't help yer aim any. IT just gives info about who yer aiming at. Range Magnifier is the zoom in one.

Yes it does work in vehicles
2 places it is shown:
in the dev chat:
"Can MAXes use implants: They cannot use melee boosters, but they can use dark light vision, audio amplifier, shield, etc implants. They are the same implants as the ones a vehicle pilot could, and would, use."
In the last line of that quote, they say right there that you can use the shields in a vechicle
In the gamespy movie vidint1 , you see the shield working on a tank when the mosquito is shooting it, it gets turned on, and there is a blue shield around it.... It is also in another movie I think, but I dont remember what one...
So, my point stands :p

lessershade, I am confused by your statement.... are you referring to my last post? if so, did you read the last line of that quote?
".....They are the same implants as the ones a VEHICLE pilot could, and would, use"
Or take a look at that video?
:p
If i misinterpreted your reply, im sorry, just trying to make sure people know that you can use the shield with vehicles :D
