How does the whole metagame work? Each match affects a larger global war or something?

yea, see, each turn you get a few maps to play on, i think your choice depends on what land each team controls, well, you and others play, and depending on how many times your side won and lost that match, and likewise for the enemy, is who wins that square, and that affects the map. and its not really global, its just for a island, some of the maps are really fun.

my personal favorite is this one map, where you have to defend from 3 sides, and you only have one base, and if the enemy caps it you lose, i like to get someone to play artillery support and have two fighters, one covering one direction, the other covering the other two, and the artillery man away in a safe place, and just wait for the enemy, i recall killing 3 enemy mechs at once several times on that map.

... Well, I just got 2 wonderful pieces of news. First, I just got a pay cut on the order of around %40 (dumbass boss is cutting my hours), and secondly, I have to purchase a new catalytic converter within a month or two so yeah... it might be a while before I can buy something like SB :(
