Push Back??? oh great...

This had better not be what i think its going be. Today i went to a couple of sites, and you know what they said? Shipping planetside: APRIL 15, now i went to 2 sites. so they might be wrong, but if it isn't, it better not be like Condition Zero, TFC2, or Duke Nukem Forever, where they keep pushing it back again and again, which it probably wont be, but if your going to put a date, i dont mind if its changed once, but if they push it back again, then thats just stupid.

Have you ever planned a trip or a weekend getaway only to have all your plans crumble right before you? Well, sometimes shit just doesn't work out the way we would like it to! I will not be pissed and upset if it is pushed back...cuz I know they are busting their asses to make this one of the best games out there. It would be diff. if they were working on something else and left PS on the back burner, but this is not the case, trust me, I'm sure they want it out on their target date as much as we do!!;)

Personally, I have never heard of a MMO game only having a 2 month beta. It sounds as if the beta might only be announced at the next chat. That makes it less then 2 months, assuming the game is actually released in March. I am personally making the realistic guess that PS will be delayed to June, and we'll get an extended beta with all the bugs ironed out. On the other hand, Dave did say that they are currently 95% done. So who knows. :)

Personally, I have never heard of a MMO game like Planetside :D

Remember its not a RPG so it may not require as much testing, and they have done a lot of in house testing too. If anything I think that it will still require balancing, but I have never heard of a multiplayer game that didn't require balancing and that can be done after release.

You guys are looking at beta as you know it with RPGs. In rpg's there's weapons and Item balance and currency and all kinds of hierarchal systems. In ps, theres two level up systems that aren't that cusstomizable, everyone uses the same weapons and vehicles. All they have to do with PS is balance damage, the ANT thing, and find map glitches. They've already got it balanced to what they think it will be on the internal - and external is just to check and make sure it's the right proportions. SO as long as the servers hold up, all they need to do is a couple of map fixes and proportion tweeks, the rotate the stress through each server and bingo you're done. You're not even looking at 3 weeks here.

I'm still thinking it's going to be March. I think the stores are just saying April since they don't have a date and since if it is pushed back just a little (say to April 8th or something), then the stores don't have people like us yelling at them on March 31st because they said it would be out in March.

I'm thinking something like the 30th but still in march. They have about 8 weeks before end of Q1, Dave said it was 95% complete so by the time they get to beta(in a week or 2) let's say 97-98%, 2-3 weeks beta of beta and it's gold with a couple weeks to spare, if not end of march than April for sure.

i really wouldnt mind if it came out in april, but then they wouldnt have complied with their Q1 comitment, but of course i wouldnt mind if they broke it because i want a good game just as the next person. i just dont want pushed back to april then May then june, but it seems like thats not going to happen so im happy... at the moment. i've seen sites that say PlanetSide is releasing in march and ive seen some say its releasing in march.

I Doubt they will Push it back its 95% Done, they fixed most of the bugs in Internal Beta, all they have to do now is test(and Stress Test) on a macro Level... That and they already pushed it back like twice, so they might just release it Finished or Not like Anarchy Online.

IF they are going to announce a "push back" at all I would think they would do it after closed beta starts. Only after a large bunch of testers get in there and start breaking things will they know if they can make the release date or not.

If they do push it back? No biggie. I'd rather suffer a couple of month more wait then have PS release like WW2O did.
