That was stupid. Any ways. I have a really nice NFA winter jacket. It fits everything in your description, aside from being yellow, you can probably find one in grey. It was fairly cheap also, at $150 CDN.

Well, how about this?
http://img30.photobucket.com/albums/v91/Fragmatic/fragjacket.jpg
A 1985 German army jacket? (That is my normal coat btw :p)

Not as bad as the t-shirt I made for 1 haloween (went trick or treating as comic chars)
http://img30.photobucket.com/albums/v91/Fragmatic/pareverseshirt.jpg
I wore it to a von bondis gig and got it signed :p

ooh. haha, i like that, frag. american mil surplus would be too obvious, but foreign stuff wouldn't

edit:
on derfud's suggestion, i checked out NFA, cursory glance found a good example:
http://www.boardzone.com/snow/shop/jackets-winter/nfa/2004-c3-3-in-1/index.cfm

i really like that for winter use, especially with the unzippable under-arm area, which would add some circumference

They're cheap as well, and toasty warm.

martyr
2004-04-26, 08:57 PM
yeah - i need something cooler, though, for a wet florida summer & fall - that still won't get too tight on my torso

Problem solved!

The inner fleece part can be removed (not worn seperately)

I just got a nice spring jacket from PING Golf. I feel sexxay in it. :brow:

martyr
2004-04-26, 09:53 PM
the problem with the golf apparel i've seen is that it comes tight against the sides of the torso [which i can't have].... but it's nice and lightweight

dickies (http://www.dickies.com/wc2/product.asp?cat=101&type=H&styd=JNT71BK&pdscr=NYLON+TASLON+JACKET+) looks ok...

Yeah, so long as it isn't:

a) A trench coat,
b) A duster,
or
c) Anything that Neo would wear.

He looks like Neo in real life enough as it is.

Whuzza.

Whats wrong with wearing a long coat?! I am thin and pale as well, and I  my coat.
Not to mention, more than once I've had a chick I don't know walk by and say "hey thats a nice coat". And I'm pretty sure they weren't being sarcastic. ;)

edit- on second thought, both times were walking through my high school to go visit my stepmom (whos a teacher). High school girls are easy to impress

Check Starter jackets out. That's what I wear all year round. Mine is just a windbreaker, but It seems to be warm enough in the Winter. I like the cold.

Edit: I'm not talking about those gay thick sports teams jackets. Mine is just a plain blue jacket/windbreaker with a starter logo on it. I really like it.

A denim jacket. I'm capable of wearing one unbuttoned in english weather with a t-shirt, so I think it'll do you fine :D

thread resurrected: i do believe i've found a winner. i like frag's but it's too heavy for florida, and i like armata's but it's $300. starter jackets are too short, and i will never don another peice of denim except in dire emergencies.

short of sdm's selection, i'm going with this, in greys:
http://www.rockcreek.com/products/listing/item239.asp

and buying it from here: http://www.marmotmountain.com/

martyr
2004-05-25, 02:49 AM
yeah, well, i'm a pretty indecisive guy when it comes to stuff like this, so instead of picking something out while the thread was running, i decided to sit back and let the right jacket come to me, the way it did earlier today.

and after all the great response in this thread, i thought i'd update everybody as to what i'll be using to conc wearing.

Parkas are waterproof on the inside.

They have hoods.

I had a damnsite heavier rain about a week ago. I could see about 2-3 metres infront of me, max. No water got through. My hair was completly dry.

this wouldnt be about some gun control laws that require you to have your gun consealed and put in a way that noone can see it and if they do its against the law now would it? ( at least i think thats the way it is in florida, right? )

martyr
2004-10-28, 01:38 AM
sure would.

that's why my requisites at the beginning of this thread included features on this jacket that would draw attention away from directions of folds & wrinkles. that's referred to as "printing" in florida law

i am wearing a holstered sidearm in both of those pictures on my right side.
