View Full Version : solution for problem with decimators.

Since people are currently respawning like jackrabbits in this game, it has completely given any point of limited ammo on the decimator no effect. I propose to add a five minute timer to it like the maxes have, and to keep on it forever. Then even if we get to where combatents are at the lifespans they should have(in which point the timer wont matter) it will still be there if it lapses again and hopefullly curve any overabuntant use from its design(and hopefully give people and incentive to stay alive longer in the first place). Im brining this up becuase ive been running into NC using it as the solution to everything on emerald and i think it violates the weapons design for them to be able to run back from an ams every few seconds from with an new one and have endless ammo. I think this is the only solution since they cant force longer play. And things like reducing its ammo or removing its availability from amss etc would be harmfull beyond what is necesarry to the weapon. I think a timer would be an artifical way to reprocuding the time people were meant to be alive in combat when the weapon was designed and it the best solution. As is AV users shouldnt be spammed with people using the cert just for the decimator or with cheap players since they should deserve the respect for the time they take and coordination they should have to be affective. As is i would like to see more organized AV groups anyways. Maybe this could also reduce the number of false AV users and reveal a real lack of users if it is there and get more actual users in the cert so it available enough to be helpful.

No, im a VS also. i will tell you why this won't work. Imagine an unlimited supply of decimators coming at you from all directions. a 5 min. timer will not remedy this problem because the people would live way too long. You think you have a problem now? imagine what would happen if u gave the same people this kind of power

Maybe lower the ammo to 2 shots and I'm TR and don't even use the Deci, I use the rocklet and do just fine.

no way, the rockets move slow enough as it is, 3 is fine. when you run out and switch to another deci, you usually die anyway.

I like it the way it is. besides, its almost too slow to use effectively anywhere.

Decis vs. Maxs are very well-balenced in my opinion, and this is from being predominantly on the max side. 2-decis kills on a max with 3 to a tube with the current refire rate interacte perfectly with the max's own ttk. In my scatmax, or observing others in a a scatmax they can fairly reliably kill rexos with decis just through intelligent use of shields and shot timing.
As an infanty, deci does work well, however just having one does not meen that all maxs within an 500m radius might as well give up. Deci vs Empire AV has less damage for the amount of space it takes up in inventory and unlike other empire AV cannot be used as effectivly at range.
Deci is balenced. AV is balenced.
Rocklet is OMGWTFBBQSONOFABITCH!!!! :mad:
In 1v1, I am of the opinion that an intelligen rexo with a rocklet can sompletely slaughter any max, no matter what they do. Rocklet has no damage dregadation and can reliably kill maxs around corners as well as take out a massive chunk of armor which is a lot harder to avoid when compared to the deci.
Wait... forget I said the above, nobody should use rocklet, av is worthless too, you don't really need it, the MA / HA combo works so much better, you can used hand-held grenades for maxs, or your knife. Remember, vehicles are for wussies. :D

I also had no idea that Deci's were a prob. Ever since they removed them from SA i never got AV. i still use the rocklet religously and almost exclusively. If you see me on the battlefiel im only in cloaker or in light armoured with rocklets. I think they work fine for anti max and have actually gotten hate tells for using it. I never knew it wasnt a fair fight between someone with 100 armour and a rocklet versus a max.

i'll be honest...i don't use my max as much as i used to, but...i hate being killed in my MAX by a Deci user! i'm not saying its inbalanced, but dang. can we say "MAX Bane?" 2nd on hate list comes those squads of strikers spamming the hell out of the battlefield with those rockets. but, oh well. like i say, i dont' use my max much anymore.
