I heard somewhere a long time ago that if you had an old playstation 2, you could send it in for the newer model. Does anyone know if this has any truth behind it and how i would do it if it did?

only if it's broken and sony wants $100 bucks to see if it's broken. So technically it is free but sony wants a $100 for shipping and opening it up

I thought you had to be under warrenty and you could send a broken one back for a new one...
