Bah. That guy is weak. I raced some chick in a Saturn today on the expressway to school. She chickened out at around 100 mph or so.

Don't mess with Electrofreak and his 115 HP Sunfire :p

Pretty cool chase tho. Not anywhere as crazy as the car crash I once witnessed while coming out of a movie theatre. It was 2:00 am (bars just had let out, figures) and some drunk guy going about 70 or so (according to the newspapers the next day) hit a series of thick steel posts embedded into the cement outside a parking lot across the street. I saw the car fly through the air, flipping like a crazed frisbee, BOUNCE off the ground, roll like 6 times, and end up in an adjacent parking lot. I ran across the street and the car was unrecognizable (couldnt have told you whether it was a coupe or a sedan, or even who made it. Just a huge crushed lump.) I looked inside and there was a guy slumped half in the passenger seat, with blood gushing from his head... it was pretty sick. I saw him twitch, thought he was still alive, yelled for someone to call an ambulance. Turns out he died on impact... hadn't been wearing a seat belt. It was the most scary thing I've ever seen in my entire life. :scared:

I may drive kinda fast some times, but at least I wear my seat belt, never drive drunk, and only go fast if there is a lot of open space and the like between vehicles, and on an expressway. Theres a difference between driving fast and driving crazy.

SO kids, don't be like the moron in the video. Drive safely and DON'T run from cops (unless you are 100% sure you can get away with it :p )

japanese cars handle for shit because most are front wheel drive.(AKA don't believe that shit you see in the Fast and the furious) And most European cars yeah they handle good. Well most of them.

Font wheel drive cars can't enter a corner faster than rear wheel drive cars, but can exit faster because they can power out more without sliding.

That's not necessarily true. When the Japanese do make a rear-wheel drive car, said car usually handles great. I own a Japanese RWD myself, and it's extraordinarily nimble.

Well this is my opinion so it may not matter. Front wheel drive (FWD) cars handle for shit. Come look at my impound lot records (I drive a tow truck and impound stolen cars/wrecked cars for the township police) the majority of accidents that I tow happen to be on a rather twisting stretch of road on 322-east the majority of cars I tow in from that road happen to be FWD mainly Honda Civics for that matter. so according to my records FWD cars handle for shit.

EDIT: Then again I live in New Jersey so it might be the drivers. we don't have the highest car insurance rates in the U.S. for nothing you know.

There's you're problem... Civic ricers, thinking they're hot shit when it comes to driving.
I suggest you speak to the mayor/whoeverthefuckcontrolsyourtown and propose a ban on Honda Civics.

The handling on civics isn't too bad though, if you enter a corner too fast in an FWD car, it can be a costly mistake.

Civics are indeed, the suck. Pubescent teenagers who just got their license get them because they are mad cheap, they've seen em in crap like F&F, and accelerate moderately well due to their low weight. However, in general they are pieces of shit.

That was nice. I thought it was quite sad that a police car outran the mustang 4 times, enough to catch up to him and bump his rear end.

Police Crown Vics are heavily modified and have good accelleration, top speed is limited to 155mph on them.

I might get one.

the police package is not that exciting. The engine is about the same. the car gets a beefed up suspension, upgraded transmission, oil cooler, radiator... few other minor things.

a buddy of mine does those cannonball run type races (cross country not legal) He was doing 140 across the desert when a police in a mustang in police colors(he said it was a mustang) came flying out of no where demanding he pulls over.

We have a few of those over here, I know we have a couple of lotus esprits and a few Mitsubishi Evo's, but they're rarely used (not many high speed chases go on :p)

they're also much lower to the ground.. reduces air resistence allowing them to accelerate even faster. GO PO-POS

That guy is nothing but a skilled driver. He always went to the outside of the median he was being PITTED into. (PIT=Police Interception Technique) which is a maneuver used to spin/disable fleeing vehicles that are considered a risk. This guy was able to downshift after he spun, roll backwards a good 50 feet, and do another 180 degree correctunal turn going backwards TWICE. That guy is an excellent driver. Not to mention that reverse maneuver he did off the freeway.

yea, but most proformance cars can still win. most of the time they wont go that fast to chase someone.

that was pretty cool. more luck then skillful driving I think.

A little overdone? Yeah I'd like to see a car survive a hailstorm of bullets and go on with no problem.

What you're talking about is the damage model--that's a little different from vehicle physics, though they do refer to each other in places (like collision damage).
