Rekon theres gonna be map co-ordinates?
I thaught it would be cool to direct airstrikes on certain co-ordinates to cover suppressed infantry on the ground say if they were heavily outnumbered or up against armour.

Thats why they have reavers isn't it?

Commanders can set waypoints and I am sure that as they get up in ranks they can set real specific waypoints so airstrikes will be possible.

Even if they don't have map Coordinates you can still coordinate via Proximity to Land Marks and Bases
IE meet North of Dropship Base

I am sure the better players, and especially the better commanders, will come to know the important choke point on all the continents.
If the leader of your squad is familliar with the choke points and bases, it shouldn't be hard for other commanders to communicate strike positions to them.

Calling in Air support or getting it out of nowhere from a commander that sees you're having problems on his map is gonna be fun....

That was actually one of the ideas I've had knocking around in the ol' noggin':
Have a squad of reavers/mosquitos, crusing around in a loose formation. When someone spots a nice fat target (or has a request for one), form up and strafe the crap out of it. I'd say 4+ reavers ought to be able to take out any 1 vehicle in a single pass (providing the pilots can actually hit what they aim for, of course).
Depending on how true that is, you could split the squad into to wings... and give each wing a different target... Wing A goes for the AMS, wing B takes out the lead tank... that sort of thing. If a particular target had to be taken out FAST (a galaxy or sunderer, carrying troops that could be killed before they were deployed), you could have everyone blast that particular target.
Of course that doesn't mention air superiority at all. "No plan survives contact with the enemy" and all that.

The counterpoint to that is what to do on the ground when it starts raining missiles.
1) In a transport? DEPLOY! If vehicles are succeptible to being blown apart in a hury by an air attack, you'd better get the heck out. This may or may not be the case. It could turn out that you're safer inside a sunderer than outside. Time will tell.
2) In an AMS? DEPLOY! An AMS will cloak once deployed, making it MUCH harder to attack from the air... provided they don't know where it is. Perhaps you could keep moving until after the first pass (if'n ya live), then deploy, so the attackers are more likely to loose sight of the AMS.
3) Scatter! Move! Take Cover! Don't let them line up an nice strafing run through a pack of troops. Don't give them a stationary target. And if you can, hiding in the woods ought to make it pretty tough to find you, much less hit you.

ok question for ya all to chew on. Once an AMS is deployed and cloaked. (say for this insance where you are on your way to attack a base) lets say you destroy the strafing reavers before they destroy your AMS. Can you then inturn "pack" the AMS back up and keep it moving to the base? or you stuck with that AMS where you have placed it only half way from your warpgate and half way to your planned position?

I'm assuming you can just hop back in and keep on truckin'.
"Ass-u-me". Yeah yeah.

i will be happy if they set coordinates. backup will be much better if we know where to go, but it would make it more exciting if they only give a proximity of where they needed it so then you would have of a wanting to help out your fellow empires soldiers
