Help Wanted

Planetside Universe has undergone a huge expansion in the past month. There has also been a large dump of information recently and some of our content is outdated. We know about this and I intend to address it. We have several staff members already and all of them have other tasks and do. So they do content updating as a side job when they are not busy with other projects. Enough of my babble down to the real stuff.

We are opening up the position of senior editor. This person would be charged with keeping an eye on PSU as a whole, and making sure all our content is up to date. They would assign tasks to the editors and other staff members to update the site, as well as do it themselves. The position does not pay, however you will become recognized within the community. Persons applying for this position need to do a write-up on Planetside, either a fiction story. Or a write-up on why they think planetside will or will not change the face of gaming. This person should also be very involved in the community, and should know the game from top to bottom as we know it now. If you are not willing to spend several hours a week on PSU business and digging around the community, you need not apply.

I finally get a chance to help the PSU community and staff but no time to take the job, sigh, i'll leave the chance to someone who has more time to do it right... :tear:

I do what you said you need to be done, but I do it all day basically, but I don't have enough...will(bad choice of words) to do anything like that continuously. Too bad, also, I sleep really oddly and that may piss you off when I update always at 1-4 AM. Nav or BZ would probably be good choices but they probably have no time either.

I would like to help, however do not have the time neccesary to do an apporpriate job, I do however have faith that you will pick the right candidate for the job.

I can only say i would love to have a job like this. Especially long term. Would love to help out the PS community, and i feel i would be well qualified. I'll have to sit back and cross my fingers, not to mention i have ALOT of free time. hehe

Just because PS comes out does not mean we stop content updating, there will be plenty of things to work on. It just wont be as busy.

The position lasts for as long as I need it :p So it will be long term.

the writing example is to weed out jeff k writers.

we demand a certain bit of aptitude with the writing. it doesn't just have to be accurate, it needs to be articulate. you need to be able to explain something in a way everyone can understand.

I am good at writing and, however pathetic it may be, spend at least a few hours on this forum every day. I am a dedicated fan of PS and have been collecting every scrap of information I can find on this game for a long time. I would love to get involved in this community. I sen't in quite the hefty application. I have a ton of free time, in a way. Like, I have a life, but I'm so damn good at it I can do a lot. ;) (Thats true too. No Honestly it is..)

I believe I can take this job on, weather its a seasonal one, or a permenant one if I do a good job, but I believe I can do this job and do whatever task is needed by the commanding officer. (ie.- Hamma, etc..)

But I've already sent in my application, I don't want to load this one with it, I just believe I should be looked into, I have great skills, I don't want to put money on it, but I believe some, or many, could back me up saying I'd be good for the job. Thats all I have to say about that.. :)

Hamma you should have like a senior editing staff comprised of 2 or 3 people. Jobs would get delegated alot more efficiently and it would make it easier for people to have a life and help out the PSU staff/community if they weren't shouldering the responsibilities all by themselves.

You could have Dio, Sputty, and myself do it. Together we would be the supreme editor combining the W.A.M.S. and the M.L.W.A. :D

You could even throw in Nav for fun. :lol:

I think it would be safe to say that Hamma's put that into consideration, but he could have left it to one person to weed out the 10-12 year old little boys who cant handle the job on their own, its for the more experienced ones who can handle it like big boys. ;)

Well some of the big boys have full time jobs that sort of make it difficult to do it by themselves. I personally would love the job but I couldn't do it by myself because I lack the time to do it all. This is a great community and I'd like the chance to help out more. Nothing wrong with needing help to do something. First step to doing something right is knowing your limits.

I would honestly love to work side-by-side with you BlueZero, it would kick some ass and be quite the bit of fun. :)

But I agree to the big boys having busy lives and jobs, which makes it harder. I have both school and work, and gaming, but I still have time. Thats why I applied and thats why I would love to have the job. :D
