Saw this in GMR magazine and thought I'd share.

Movies that will likely happen:
Alone in the Dark (Atari) - Brightlight Pictures
BloodRayne (Majesco) - Brightlight Pictures
Resident Evil: Apocalypse (Capcom) - Sony's Screen Gems
Silent Hill (Konami) - Davis Films

Movies that could happen:
Dead or Alive (Tecmo) - Impact Pictures
Doom (Activision) - Warner Bros.

Talks are happening:
Metal Gear Solid (Konami) - Universal Studios
Prince of Persia (Ubisoft) - Jerry Bruckheimer/Disney

Silent Hill could be pretty cool too (if done right).

Oh, and in unrelated news: KOTOR2:the Sith Lords is in the works too, they say Feb '05

I still think they should make a Green Lantern movie. That would kick so much ass.

thinking about a hitman movie makes me warm inside with awesome badassness.

Well, I believe Resident Evil: Apoclypse is in post now, so I'd say that's 99% likely to happen. Bloodrayne would probably do decently, but there's better games they could do. Metal Gear Solid would be excelent, but the number one problem I see with that would be deciding wether to start from the beginning so everyone understands, or cutting up the plot. Silent Hill would be cool.

Doom absolutely has to happen, as long as they do it right, that would be fan-fucking-tastic. Half Life would also be boss.

Splinter cell, or Halo if they could pull it off.

Ninja gaiden. You can't go wrong with ninjas.

A Splinter Cell movie would be badass. But I don't think Bungie would allow a Halo movie to be made.

Bungie has no say in it, Microsoft does. And why would they not? Movie + HUUUUUUUUUUGE base of people who would watch it = assloads of money.

If they manage to do it right. It would be very good if it didn't have big-name stars in it. Just like BoB.

That'll be good if they do it right... but why do most people forget that there were a few MG games before MGS?

Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid. I dont care about anything else this game has to be made into a movie. after beating Sons of Liberty it just has to happen.

I thought the resident Evil movie was horrible. That movie dawn of the dead is what resident Evil should have been. an MGS movie sure as long as it doesn't have shitty actors in it (If Keanu Reeves is Snake I will hunt him down and kill him) Now David Hayter might actually be able to play Snake (He is snakes voice actor) and actauly looks alot like snake well he did in the early 90's. I don't know he looks like he could do it. http://www.chud.com/graphics3/hayter.jpg

EDIT Besides He's the Guyver and as you know TEH GUYVER PWNS J00!!!!!!1111http://www.japanhero.com/Graphics/jhEXS/Guyver%202/Review5.jpg

This may be a bit old, but...

SoulCalibur Movie! (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/film/brief_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000451741)

That's right kiddies, Hollywood has decided to try it's luck by turning yet another great video game into a crappy movie! No longer will we wonder whether Nightmare and Astaroth actually work together, if Ivy really wears those revealing thongs, or if Lizard Man and Seung Mina have hot hot lizard sex! Now all we need to worry about is the CAST! Who will make the better Hwang: Mark "Marky Mark" Walhberg or Justin "Tit Tazzler" Timberlake! Will Antonio Banderas don the armor of Mitsurugi? Has Catherine Zeta Jones agreed to play Taki? Will Sean Connery (EdgeMaster) do the nasty with both Christina Aguilera (Sophitia) and Britney Spears (Cassandra) at the same time for no good reason?!?! Oh, I'm simply too excited to continue this post!

I totally agree. The story in this game was unbelieveable. Most people complain about this and say there are too many CG movie sequences. I disagree, it totally enhances the experience.

Sons of Liberty was ok... its basically building on the story of MGS1, just with the Tanker chapter tossed in...

I can't beleive you didnt mention anything about the Max Payne Movie. It has already been anounced. Then the Half life movie. There was quite a bit of talk about that a while ago.

really o-f-n, but had to add it to the thread

http://www.gamer.tv/page/feature/3425251.htm

Dean Devlin, who produced and co-wrote Independence Day and Stargate alongside director Roland Emmerich, announced last week that his next project is a movie based on the best-selling MechWarrior sci-fi pen-and-paper, PC and Xbox videogames.

Paramount Pictures recently optioned the rights to the game-movie conversion from Seattle-based copyright holder Wiz Kids, with Devlin to produce the movie and his company, Electric Entertainment, to develop the script.
If they do it right, it will rock harder than any movie in existance. As a huge Mechwarrior fan, my ass will be in the theater for this one without a doubt.
