Help me get a darker theme

i really want to get a color scheme for my desktop(XP) thats darker than the factory silver color scheme, so at night it wont take as long before my eyes start to hurt.

any suggestions on how to do this?>

But I recommend Aston Shell but that is a shell not a theme.

I used to have a Diablo 2 theme, which was really dark (both literally and figuratively).

I have an image from Mechwarrior Four... it's the dropship coming in for orbit, with a dark reddish background. I leave my monitor on at night when I sleep, so it's kinda soothing.

Of course, my Barry Manilow also helps.

get the patch that lets you use non-MS theme's all you have to do is unzip the theme you want into the win/resorces/theme forlder and then you can get to it from teh desktop options screen.

It totaly free, not a program and works forever

I did that but I made the words dark grey not white. White was too much for me on a black background.

i tired that and whenever i load a theme now it just adds the icons and wallpaper, but not the start bar, which just goes to the old stlye.

tried 2 themes, didnt work with either. maybe try a third?

Hmm I got like 5 and then combined my favorite parts and made one out of them all. And my bar is good just keep trying maybe try another and make sure that the patcher worked correctly.

Try uninstalling then reinstalling the patcher (not the themes).

Do you have Xp Sp1? There is a different patcher for XP and XP Sp1.

Also, I downloaded an Aston theme, how do I apply it onto the Aston shell? ;/
