Here's a thought. Can people get on top of vehicles and ride around.
I.E. : Galaxy pulls up with top parallel to a platform, and MAX gets on top of it to provide a little extra firepower. :sniper:
Maybe this has already been taken care of, I dunno I've only just now found the forum so I haven't been around for to long.

No, it won't be possible.

Now don't get me wrong. This is a valid question for someone new to the forum/game.

But how lame would that be if you could "wing walk"??!?!?
:furious:

I believe it would be very lame, hence the reason I brought it up. Could you imagine a Galaxy with an group of units "sitting" on top, that would be a pain  .

Not to mention it would be unrealistic and look stupid..

"Is that a Galaxy?"

"I think its a flying porcupine."

I think SJ said if yu could get on the wing then you could walk on while it's not moving but for when it moves...Ehhhhh, well, you'd probably get blown off. It'll probably be like BF1942 with things like that. When a plane gets off and if you're on it you fall off.

I think it would be posible... cause you got collision detection between player-vehicle. The only problem is wether or not you move with the aircraft when it moves. If you don't you would have to run as the aircraft flies, or try to get "stuck" so the planes keeps you up and push's you - which might get you killed... Would be a good question for the dev interview.
If you're good you can do this in BF1942, but it's on the small fast planes.

[EDIT]: I meant "but it's difficult on the small fast planes."

you could actually put a third person on the front of the jeep. if they laid down on the front part then they usually won't fall off because the windshield is right there.

Wingwalking is rather difficult in BF1942 an in Planetside wouldnt prove much use :(

Sputty is right, if you could load a couple of extra reinforced infantry/MAX's on the wings of the galaxy then it would not only have some extra turrets, but it would also have that many more people on board.

And what about skeeters/reavers, do you want them to turn into transport planes as well?

Im not opposed to wing walking if it served a limited use (really hard and couldnt do it for long), but I doubt it will be included.

We shall see though, Im sure someone will try and do it as soon as the beta comes out, or SmokeJumper could tell us. ;)

Can you build a spitfire turret and stick it on the belly of a galaxy or a reaver? I wonder.... Hrmmmmmm?

Maybe kinetic dampers will only be activated when exiting an aircraft... Would atleast prevent massive paratrooper drop from wingwalkers.

A TR max could use its spike thingies and dig into the roof. Once again prooves that :trrocks:

We don't know whether they can and it must be hard to get on top of the wings...Although if they could those AT MAXes with grenades would become mean bombarders.

You won't be able to stay on while any aircraft moves. Even if you were, they'd change it. Galaxies are set to hold a certain number of passengers, and circumventing that by any means is an exploit.

Also, a wether is a castrated ram.

Well that would be your guess, unless you have a dev quote to back it up, your guess is as good as mine.
And I don't think it will be regarded as an exploit.

There is a dev quote against "wing walking". Maybe I will go find it.

You can't clamp on vehicles

Tolvy

Super Glue. It would solve the problem

I heard that in order to ride on the top of a vehicle, you would have to be walking the exact same speed as the vehicle was traveling. So it is possible, but really hard to do. The vehicle would have to go slow, which defeats the purpose of a vehicle.

Old thread I made and It was said in the shoutcast interview. SJ said he hadn't tried it, but he assumed you would just slide off.. http://www.planetside-universe.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1763
