I actually didn't see that much elitism while the bubbles were around. Generally, high-ranking members commanded respect because they earned it, not because they had a whole bunch of bubbles next to their name.

Well, as equal as they could be considering that join date and other things are still available. As the first steps I eliminated post counts, now the only way to see them is to contribute money to PSU.

At some point a few months back I guess I lost sight of my original vision, reading around the community I discovered that there are some that view PSU as an elitist community. While I know there is nothing I can do to completly stop that being the admin I certianly do have some power to change. So I have used the tools available to me to eliminate Battle Ranks (based on post count) and user titles (also based on post count) at some point they may come back, but not anytime soon.

In addition, if you tend to look down upon people on these forums remember that you were a newb once too, hell even I was a newb once to this community and forum :p Try and treat others with the respect you would like to be treated with. The moderators will be given a new rule to strike down those who flame others because they are new, or simply because they are older than whoever they are attacking. I know this can be a dangerous path to go down, but it must be done to keep up the quality on these forums.

If people think THIS community is becoming elitist, they should go visit the Tribalwar.com forums. The nay-sayers have no idea how good they got it here! The meanest, sharp-tongued person on PSU is like a beautiful, sweet, gumdrop angel dipped in golden honey-sauce with chocolate sprinkles compared to a Tribalwar regular. They have redefined the word "asshole" for the 21st century.

Having said that, I never looked at post count to begin with. It's a BS, empty, shallow way to say you're more important than others. Most will agree when I say that I prefer one quality post to 100 people posting fluff and smilies.

And as for me, I used the little BR blocks (dunno where the bulbs came from) as ways to identify the....eldest or common people. Not that I go to some newbie and say scram biatch, just its common for me to look there. If no blocks, make the join date visable under the advatar or something. For there could be elder members still watching the site that are here fro mthe beginning.....not likely but possible.
