The new gear system is all well and good. But when are we going to see spin outs and other such driving physics? A GTA style vehicle physics engine would be rather nice.

The realistic driving experience will be implemented as soon as they implement the true-physics flight engines.

realistic doesnt always mean fun. Its hard as hell to fly the planes in BF1942 and the helicoppers in the BF1942 mod desert combat. Id drop all of my air vehicle certs if they put those type of controls in. Could you imagine if the vehicles in PS where as unstable to drive as the vehilces in halo? The warhog spins all over the place, much easier and fun to drive the vehicles the way they are now.

Helicopters have a stupid control system in BF1942: DC, it'd probably be easier to fly a real one :D
Reminds me of the scorpion in UT2k4, that thing can sometimes spin all over the place.
I suppose it's something the devs could do :)

Indeed, just like destroyable terrain, ragdoll physics and a realistic flight system.

First things first they need to de-buggify the game then they can worry about messing with physic's for Driving/Flying/Dieing

Who knows if it can handle it? You've got so much being taken care of already, x-tra special effects just may push the game over the edge. Remember this is a FPS not Grand Turismo or some other driving game.
But if were going to go with "realism", lets add gun jams, equipment failures, vehicle stalls and breakdowns, etc.

Driving is for n00bs :D cert yourself a spamboat! weeeeeee

It woudl be cool for manual gear shift if you wanted it, but farther than tha i want nothing. It the reaver was as hard to pilot as a Soldner chooper or plane i on't know what i would do

I wish the enforcer and maurader handled like the warthog in halo. or maybe the harraser.

Geez, think how much mowing would be done if the assault buggies drove like Halo Warthogs :scared:

most likely wont happen. If anything i would like to see flying physics like Battle field Vietnam

man if reavers flew like a chopper in Bf1942 each of their rockets would have to pack explosives enough for the enemies to feel the punch of GOD to offset the steep learning curve

That said if they covertly implemented the Bf1942 plane physics for a day or two i would laugh my ass off when some1 buys a reaver or mossie and suddenly crashes and started screaming bloody murder into team speak

Anyone who doesn't like the warthog physics should die. Its freakin easy and fun.
Though thats for the computer, dunno what yall xbox ppl live with.

Id love it, but the devs want to keep piloting vehicles simple to reduce lag, with more ways the server and client apps would have to do more calculations.

I think they want to keep it simple because most people use mouse and keyboard :)
Oh and they don't want every other galaxy falling out of the sky :D

And the flight vehicles dont look like flipping kind of vehicles. Wouldn't it look wierd to see a Reaver do a backflip much less a barrel roll?
I like the flight engine. The driving one though, I odnt like just tapping the button to turn and i make too big of a turn. They need to fix that.

I don't really care for this except that occasional time when you guys a convey going andu are really far away from the guy in front of you but he is screaming at you to get away from him, i wish they could fix that, yes I do.

The warthog pysichs are cool, but it would not be good for the game, gunning for those is hard enough as it is

not really, i find it quite fun.
PS. the driving physics are bad, but hey, its not horrible

The soldner choppers are very hard as well mosly because you get no reticule showing were your rockets go, also you have to keep traks of the blade pitch, it very complicated.
Besieds the vehicles in this game are more liek vtol planes like Harriers, that pack a helies weponry

Soldner flying is about as fun as slitting your wrists.

The Reaver is a lot like the command and conquer Orca "vtol heli of the future" which will prolly be around in 20 some years. It flew fast and could stop and hover in one stop and fire vollys of missles at ground targets.
