shit looks like I may need a slight upgrade later this year. I like to be on top of the competition. does anyone know if you can replace an intel processor with an AMD one?

If I'm interpreting your question right, you're asking if you can yank out the processor and just put a new one in the space--the answer is: no. You can't just replace the processor. MBs normally support a certain kind of processor in a range of speeds, and you could upgrade to the highest one your mb supports. If you're switching beyond that or from Intel to AMD then you need to, at least, replace the motherboard and cpu heatsink/fan.

Althoguth it was officaly released today i have to say *** as i have known about it for the better part of 4 months.

The XT version is gona own but the 6800 beats it a bit, thoguth the one molex and the fact it is Very cool compared to the 6800 even it out a bit

Yes lee you could, if you have AGP 8x and a decent(>=350 watt) PSU

ALso the pro version is up for sale now you can buy it and get it delivered to your door in a few days. the 6800 wont be avilible for a bit

so I would need a ne w motherboard to get a new processor? and since Im getting then new vid card when I do that, isnt that just like basically getting a new computer?

You can keep your ram, your case, your hard drive, your cdrw, your powersupply...stuff adds up. You can upgrade just your CPU and Motherboard to a modern standard for like 350.

Ok, hopefully then Hamma will run the sigbot again and you'll lose your sig priveledges

Screw it. Wait for the R423 with PCI-X. The R420 is nice, but still only AGP 8x...

Actually, smarter yet, wait for PCI-X AND DDR2 to come out, THEN buy yourself new gear. (Though, by that point something ELSE will be close to being released  )
