Every time someone comes up with a novel, reasonable new idea, someone else rolls out the tired old slogan:
they need to fix the bugs before they...
OR
the devs have more important things to do
Well, I am pretty sick of this line of thought. The present build of Planetside works wonderfully for the vast majority of people. I CTD and disco more often in Everquest, a five year old product, than Planetside. I have news for you: a pc game will never be free of bugs. A network game will never be free of lag. Stop asking for the impossible. Planetside has always been a very stable game, on every system I have played it on. It lags, but not nearly as much as you would expect, and has made incredible advances in this department since release.
So please, revise your expectations. If the game is continually crashing for you, maybe it's time to upgrade your crummy system. The price of admission here is, at least, 1 gig of ram and a 64 mb video card. Don't ask them to stop developing and expanding the game because you don't have a lot of uptime with your monochrome tandy.
Personally, I'm willing to accept minor bugs and crashes, and occasional server outages, if the payoff is new gameplay and new content. Presently the level of bugs and lag is such that further improvement will result in diminishing returns. I would like to see the dev team be a little bit more daring and creative with the ideas they are advancing than they are at this time.
