Please note that the AMS is ugly as fuck. Still, I guess it's functionality that counts.
Regardless, can't wait to see these on the battlefield.

Well I don't know the AMS looks a little better I think (more heavily armored if you will)

It took me almost 25 minutes to make this post, because I was coding during the commercials for the friend's finale. :)

I like 'em!

Thunderer & Aurora don't look all that exciting. Expecially the Aurora it's weapons looks so ugly.....
As for the AMS, its still a brick, wish those Consoles on the side was shielded in some way, when not deployed. They look so vunerable like that....

How are you supposed to deconstruct in the AMS if there are no respawn tubes anymore?

Aren't there version of the Delieverer suppose to have more hefty armour? Because they don't look more armoured to me.....

Not really impressed with these new vehicles. Wish we had more content involving certs and what not. I would love to have an all sniper/medic/hacker/infil setup that makes me play my role better. No more jack of all trades/master of none thing. Kinda blend rpg style certs/roles with FPS combat. All in all just one more thing fer me to hack and ditch into a lake/kamikaze into the enemy ;)

The back recess, I believe, is the decon panel.

These Deliverers are going to be harder to tell from the normal Delis at range (except the TR version - four guns is a dead ringer), which will give them a bit of an edge. At first I though there wasn't enough change, but I like them now.

Now to actually test them. :D

I just wish they changed the Vanu one with Anti-gravity drives!
It can fullfill the same function as a Delieverer obsolete shaft/wheel system.
We are suppose to have a monopoly on that technology!

Stupid Dev! No imagination what so ever! All they have to do is take Anti-Gravity drives and tweak it so that it is a comprimised between the Thresher and Magrider.

I still say the VS got the raw deal, the aurora should have anti grav drives, the cannons look too similar to the NC and original cannons. The body looks too much alike too they should look completely different to the original deliverer. I can't obviously comment on what the weapon is like to use but just on looks I think the dev's could have done alot better.

well this is only "different Wepon loadouts" not different Vehicals. so there was no need for them to alter the vehicals. though it would be nice to set different looking vehicals.

its not a very clear view of the weapons. I wont make any judgement on them until I see it in game. I like the new AMS, much more effecient and functional, remember, vehicles like the lodestar and ANT were never meant to look goo.d

Has anyone else noticed that the PS Homepage refers to the TR Deli variant as "the Raider"?

More Vehicular Variants In Development - May 06, 2004
You've seen the Terran Republic's Deliver variant, the Raider. Now take a look at the New Conglomerate's Thunderer and the Vanu Sovereignty's Aurora.
Of course, the link to the In Development section still refers to it as the "Battlewagon"...

The new AMS looks like its more usefull.

:bang: May I ask Y they always make TR vehs require MORE people?

From what I know, the 15 mm does less damage than either the auroua gun or the thunderer gun. And they still cant get a name (tho the "raider" is better), it makes TR sound more like NC with the "terrorist" thing. I wish they would give us sumin that required few people and still dish out the damge with decent armor.

Ok, Iam done :domotwak: (Luv da smilies)

It's a troop transport - the more people you can haul, the better. I would be more than happy if my squads all had guns when we went mechanized.

I'll second that I think the TR are missing the point that deliverers are usually full anyway and that means everyone is gunning so pretty much = ownage

the reason TR have more gunners is the "more bullets in the air" philosophy the TR have if you don't like it play a different empire

 :mad:Uhm... these are Deliverer variants. Deliverers with different weapons on top, a bit more armor, and slower speed. Not new vehicles. Variants. A hovering Vanu Deliverer would be a whole new vehicle, and introduce a whole bunch of balance problems. Besides, the Deliverer can already go over water, it just can't strafe side to side, so whats the big deal?

Edit- SilverLord, I'm pretty sure thats not the case. Sounds like a rumour started up to get people grumbling. If the Thunderer's guns couldn't move side to side it would be pretty freakin worthless, and the Dev's wouldn't do that.

Edit2- BlackHawk, the Devs renamed the "Battlewagon" to "Raider" after a whole bunch of people on the OF complained (I remember them saying that it made the TR sound like rednecks. Actually, the Devs picked this name because of the AGN commercial with Bubba and Earl :p ) Here is a link. The Fury can't pivot it's rocket launcher. I would imagine the deliverers have a full range of motion on their guns.

I just don't like the negative space right above the equipment terminals on the AMS. I think they should implement a holoflag right above them with the owner's name, outfit name, and outfit holoflag. You could choose what you do and don't want to display on the vehicle pane.

Dharkbayne

Yeah, the bassy needs to turn to aim left to right, but can aim up and down.

TheN00b
2004-05-10, 05:04 PM
Heh, if the Fury could pivot its guns, it would probably be overpowered. As it is, it will still probably be excellent in large numbers for hit-and-run raids against tank columns.
