When someone dies and chooses to respawn the become a coffin which you can fully loot. If they chose not to respawn and wait for a medic to revive them I believe you cannot loot thier bodies, but I may be wrong.

Yes you got it right Saint. Once you die you can choose to wait and see if a medic will revive you or you can choose to respawn. If you choose to respawn, a coffin appears and it can be looted. If you choose to try and be revived, you can not be looted right away. Eventually though if you are not revived soon enough, you will "release" and go to a respawn facility automatically. Once that happens you can be looted.

sounds fair enough, but I think he was talking about sharing gun cntrl across races, I dont think you can pick up another armie's weapon, but if it's common pool....

thats pretty cool. it sounds like age of camelot. if you die you can either wait for a healer to ressurect you or you could choose to respawn back a town.

well fire_monkey, you could be right but they say that you can capture an empire specific vehicle so you might be able to take an empire spec. weapon. i'm not 100% sure about it. if i'm wrong please tell me so that i don't look like a dumbass anymore.

You still need the Cert to use the weapon though

Hamma

Indeed you do.

You can steal enemy empire specific weaponry but you need the equivalent cert - so if u are NC u can steal a vanu beamer if u have the standard weaponry cert

do u have to have the cert to steal it... or can u just steal it but cant use it?

Hamma

I am fairly certain you can steal(hack) anything even if you cant use it, someone in your squad probably can.

ok, i was thinking it woulda been pretty dumb if u couldnt pick it up...

i mean what if a low level character wanted an uber l33t weapon they didnt have the cert for. they could just pick it up, stash it away until they could use it

Obskure, by the time that person got the cert to use the weapon, they could just order it. Unless it was a different race weapon.

I don't see to many people using other faction weapons do to ammo problems. If you like that factions' weapons so much, just be that faction.

What if you like weapons from both factions, have friends in another faction, or just need a cirtian type of weapon to get the job done?

Plus you can always steal ammo and grenades.

If you have advanced hacking, I believe you can use enemy equipment terminals. I would assume thats how you get ammo for enemy guns. Is this right hamma?

Or, you could just loot the ammo :D

The only non-common ammo type is energy cells. (oops, not quite)

Shotgun shells are common pool, as are bullets, and grenades.

And if you jack some Vanu's ride, check the trunk... There's sure to be a pile of cells in back. Ditto for their corpse. Unless, of course, they died because they ran out of ammo and couldn't shoot back.

Phoenixes & striker reloads will be harder to come by.

And as far as certs go, if you have, for example, the assault rifle cert, you can use any rifle from any empire. Ditto for anti-vehicular, and "special" (jackhammer/lasher/minigun). Oh, and pistols are a freebee cert, so you can use them all from day one.

Devs have said that if you hack an enemy terminal (vehicle or inventory) you can only get your own empire's equipment out of it.

Corpses and trunks. Think corpses and trunks.

I wonder what happens when you hack a vehicle you're not certified in? Does it still become yours? I seriouslu doubt you could drive it, but I suppose you could hop in a gunner position (and loot the trunk, of course).

yeah.. i am TR to the bone for sure, but i'm not going to be so ignorant to fail to recognize the badassness of some NC weapons.. so i'll be trying to lift them whenever possible.

I see alot of medics/hackers doing this if they are going to be in something other than the cloaking armor.

I heard that u don't get a cert in specific weapons but u you go for standard assault and that includes some weapons. When u train in that u can loot and use the equivalent from the other teams

Im not sure when you hack a vehicle your not certified for, It probably becomes "empire owned" that is it just sits there waiting for someone in your squad or empire to take it.

With the 3.5K players in one area, I hope the coffins don't stop movement. That would really suck, if you're Vanu Inf. with beamer, and a Terran MAX actually spots you. You run like hell into the woods, only to be stopped dead in your tracks by your dead partner. Or in an open field where a huge battle is being fought, and you have to jump all over the place, making yourself a huge target. Then vehicles can't get anywhere (except hover?).
Anyways, I hope you can walk through them.

At most I would guess you would have upwards of 40 coffins tops in view during a "major" all-out fight-for-your-life battle.

Don't forget, those 3.5k people are not in the same area, the logistics of that are astounding.

It would just be a great big redish, bluish, purplish sea.
