This is awesome. Can't wait to see a list of the commendations we can get.
I don't have a high kill rate cause I'm uselly doing support or Spec Ops. So this is nice for us type of guys.

*sigh* They put in stuff like this, and yet you still get deconstructed just driving around your base because they never fixed v-pad deconstruction.

Yeah...so ps is to the point now were to keep people playing, they have a system to show off how "cool" you are, and like other systems like this is any other game, the people who can play the most will be the ones with the most goodies, kind of sucks, but if it comes before summer starts for me I will be pleased.
kind of like horse and a carrot, people are getting bored, but now they just HAVE to get that next medal...
at least I will be able to get a vet medal right off the bat ;)

It's not going to be retroactive.

thats not a bugI know that, it doesn't change the fact that it's fucking moronic that i get deconned when I drive my tank UNDER the air vehicle pads at tech plants or try to use some of the air-pads at a biolab.

It wouldn't matter. They said that commendations are not retroactive.

retroactive.
retroactive = what?

Retroactive means working backwards, basically. Spork said that with the exception of the Veteran medal, no awards would be issued based on criteria that had been met before this feature was added.
He said the veteran medal would, however, count from total play time. This award (given automatically after your character or account, it's unclear which) has been around for a year. It gives you one extra slot to display a medal on your avatar, plus an actual medal indicating you're a veteran.
I guess cloakers get screwed on this deal, eh?
Still, this is a simply marvelous idea. Would like to see it made first priority after 2.7

I hope there is one that counts how many kill-assists you get for driving the vehicle the gunner is killing people with.

I would hope that they would allow you to put something on your vehicle to show that. Maybe a hood ornament or something.
Seriously, I can't wait for the veteran medal. If they release it before the 29th though, I'll have to wait just that much longer. Doubt they will, but I'm just saying.

Most of my Kills come from Holding down Gens, repairing them or doing back hacks. You'll generally get twice as many kills out of the zerg then in a zerg!

That and they have yet to fix the problem with gunning a skyguard. If you turn the turret to look behind you, you see your helmet or parts of your helmet and it gets in the way if you're trying to take out a reaver/mosquito that's about to kill your skyguard.
I would hope that they would allow you to put something on your vehicle to show that. Maybe a hood ornament or something.
While I wouldn't hold my breath, what would be spectacular is if you get a generic 'vanguard' decal for every 200 enemy vehicles your vehicle lays low, to a maximum of like 10.

This really isn't that big of a problem. I've driven and gunned for a SkyGuard, and I didn't find it to be a problem. I loved the SkyGuard, but I un-certed in it because I couldn't solo in it. (I'm a big solo-er)

Happens in the Harrasser too... floating TR goggles :scared:
T_Ray said he'd fixed the skyguard problem and the Groundpounder flash, but it's not in the official patch notes :(
