Some kids from Singers woke up my brother to take him to IHOP. Buncha giggling girls, woke me straight up. Then when I went to eat they stood around and giggled in the hall for 15 minutes (my brother takes longer than anyone I know to get up.)

Yeah, getting no sleep sucks. A few months back I pulled an all nighter on a school night. It was horrible. I couldn't concentrate at all during school, and my eyes hurt alot.

It's even worse when you have to do something like go fly. You're officially discouraged from flying without sufficient crew rest, but unofficially pushed to do so at times. It's nasty stuff trying to fly with a couple to three hours sleep. You're wanting to go to sleep, but you know you can't, you're trained to do the important stuff like a robot, but little things like callouts get missed and you're simultaneously trying to fly the aircraft, read an approach plate, not fall asleep, and getting lectured by your instructor that you shouldn't have missed that descent checklist callout, even if you'd done the list and just forgot to verbalize it.

And my family normally goes to bed at 2-5 am and wakes at 11am-2pm.
It's hard not to follow their pattern, but I have to( i have class at 8 am until 6 pm)

Nowadays If I get:
4-6 hours i'm good
8-10 hours on a week day i'm wipped out/can't function well
8-19 on a week end day(what is the word for that? on the weekend?), and I recharge my batteries.
But with only 3 or less hours of sleep, it just sucks, i can't function well. Unless there is actually something to do, if i have class i won't stay awake easily, but if i'm out dancing or doing sports i can keep awake.

The longest I ever went without sleep was 3 days, and if you think about it, it is quite stupid to do so. I did it with Planetside beta and asheron's call
It just sucks being up all the time, fun yes but after awhile there is nothing, everyone is asleep. Then when you wake up the next day you over slept and it's actually night again farx zarx.

ya it's an addiction to alot of people, it's just so comfortable. No real world just the game. i was Addicted to asheron's call for 1-1.5 years and games in general for about 3-5 years
I never realized it until i sat down and realized what my friends where saying. 1 friend doesn't leave the house always stays home with a video game and always a knew one. I have stopped joining potentially addictive games. That is why i currently only play Astrobattle (astrobattle.com)and sof2-beta. Games you can quit easily.


Try going 1 week without playing any video game(if you think this is easy your wrong)
Or if you feel real adventerous no TV no Computer for one week, read and go outside. See what this 'IRL ' really is.

The day before me and my best friend were going home from college last year in Manhattan, we decided to save all of our packing for the night before we left. 10pm rolls around and we get started in my room, and have everything packed up by about 2am. Then we headed to his room and started packing and throwing everything out. By the time we finished, it was 7am and we were starved. So we decided, hell, we're already awake, we might as well use up those free tickets to the Museum of Natural History (since they cost like, $30 each).

So we did. It was hilarious.

One kid walked up to a diarama of a skunk and said, "Mommy, what's this?" and my friend said, "SATAN!" just as I was saying, "THE DEVIL!". The kid ran away.

Anyway, we came back downtown at around 1pm, loaded up the cars, hugged, and went home for the summer. Good times.
