This'll be like HL2, it'll only be released when Hell freezes over.

Yes yes, it's nice and pretty and all, but how does it look under action? What kind of video card will they make that everyone needs to have to be able to even get half of what that thing can do?

Look at the video I linked for action shots. This engine will be used in games 2-3 years from now. So no, your radeon 9800 pro won't run it smoothly. The card they used to run the demo though, is a nvidia 6800 ultra. So by then cards should have no problem running this, and they won't be horribly expensive either.

Until the games actually look like that while actively playing the game, I don't give a crap.
It will be at least 5-6+ years until games we play actually look like that consistantly. Screenshots like that are run on mega-computers that game devs (or in this came, engine devs) create to brag.

Badass. I can't wait for this. There's never been a better time to be a console or PC gamer. God I love life.

You will need a next generation video card like the R800 or its NVidia counterpart. Nothing less.
Anyway, by the time a game like this is out, we will be two or three generations of video cards away from the R800, and R800-like parts will be mid-level cards--it will be two years before a game that looks like this is made. They could make it now, of course, but the market penetration of the computers that could run it means that the sales would be zip. It'll be viable in two years, I'm betting.
