I was under the impression they could not get the pictures of the tank - they were taken in the form of a stil photo, somthing that could not be downlinked.

I believe this is false..

I know nasa has telescopic cameras here on earth it uses to film and shoot the shuttle, and photographic satallites. I don't know if the satellites could be used to take that pic though. I doubt they could focus out enough.........

Actually I took that picture with a disposable camera. I was on my way back to the planet and just decided to snap a few shots of the shuttle.

I heard a NASA spokesman on the news this morning that they had the Department of Defence use a spy satelite to look at the shuttle to make sute the damage was not to bad.

I say the pic is a fake.

'course it's fake. its a picture of the hull - and from the angle and zoom it doesnt fit. besides they said damage to left wing not hull.

The problem with the US space program is we over sophisticate everything. Things become so complex that simple tasks become extremely expensive and timely.

The Russains had a good space program. They were the first in space and I don't care what anyone thinks.... no one EVER landed on the moon. If we had landed on the moon we would have a moon base there.
