Polst your latest movie binge, if any.

Today, I just rented Underworld, which was a hell of a lot better than the Reviews led me to believe, Gothika, which I am halfway through viewing as of this writing(creepy-ass movie), and Runaway Jury, which I have high hopes for, as it sounded really good.

Honestly, I dont see how people can love that movie so much. I mean, it was good the first time, but I dont see how people can watch it over and over and over again.

Because its one of the most interesting philisophical points of view of the late 90's to now, an overcommercialized era.

I binge on movies nightly practically these days. Saw Runaway Jury earlier this week, while I liked it, and they did a good job adapting the story, I was much happier with the story when I read the novel.

I watched Bubba Ho-Tep this morning, great stuff if you're a Bruce Campbell fan, I hope someone has taken notice and is putting Bruce in a leading role more often, his work with the Evil Dead movies is legend in my opinion.

Martyr, Triggar and I went to Troy tonight. Triggar most definitely didn't like it, I'll let her post her own reasons though. I thought the movie was ok at best, the acting was pretty good, and the battles were nice eye candy. My problem lied in some poor casting, as well as the butchering of the Illiad. Seeing an Irishman with a noticable Irish accent play Odysseus wronged me in a way I can't describe. They didn't bother explaining the back story to Achilles at all, and many characters were changed to better suit what Hollywood thinks people want to see. My ancestors are surely begging Zeus to chuck some lightning at whoever okayed that script.

I wouldn't go that far, but Chuck Palahniuk definately has interesting commentary on modern society.

As CB said about three posts up, I definitely disapprove of the movie "Troy". To me, it was a 3-hour long battle scene. There was no backstory and very, very little plot.

What makes the story so interesting is the history - Athena and the golden apples, Achilles' being dipped in the river Styx to make him immortal, how Agamemnon and Achilles really died, et cetera. The movie overlooked all these things and instead chose to make the movie a battle, from the moment the movie started to the moment the movie ended.

I must've checked my watch at least 4 times.

Good, I don't want any story. I want WAR.
