I found this game used at the local EB a week ago. I started playing it and, at first, was a bit frustrated. The learning curve from beginner to intermediate was steep. Then, once you've got all the tactics down, the learning curve to expert is even steeper, learning all the skills and combinations possible.

However, after a full week of playing ive come to the conclusion that this is one of the best freaking games out there.

Im interested in knowing what other people are using for their party?

I decided to go for a challenge and have a party of all generics (aside from the main charachter).

I've got 3 Ninja's. Each of them have:

Throw (basic Ninja skill set)
Blade Grasp (Samurai defence)
Wear Knife (Allows me to dual weild katanas)
Move +2

2 of the Ninjas have Draw Out (Samurai skill set) as their second skill. The other has Punch Art (Monk skill set) which lets me heal, revive, cure status ailments, and do multi target attacks.

The other 2 charachters are mages. One is a Time Mage/Priest. The other is a Wizard/Summoner. Both are using Counter Magic, Short Change, and Move +2.

I digged FF Tactics Advance. Than I discovered Advance Wars 2.

Actually i've been wanting to play FF Tactics again lately. But I usually play on my GBA on long trips or crappy days with nothing else to do. Or if my internet isn't working.

WTF? Ninja monks?

When he busts out his dual weilded Samurai katanas and his punch arts sometimes I get scared and hide in the bedroom. I only come back out when the kittens feel it's safe to wander the living room again.

hes talking bout the oringinal one. Yes it did rock soooo hard. FF:TA was a great filler but, i prefer the oringinal much better. I loved that game sooo much. i had ninja chemists , but, i was like 12 so eh. But ill dig it up and own one day.

Ninja chemists? That sounds cool, what with the ability to throw heals and phoenix downs. I let my priest/time mage handle big heal jobs and my ninja/monk can do a good emergency heal with Chakra which almost fully heals anyone nearby.

Heh, you can't beat a black mage/calculator, give him/her magic attack up, teleport, and blade grasp, learn holy, and you'll be dishing out 999 to everything on the field. Not to mention it doesn't cost any mana to cast and all spells cast instantly.

And of course, there's Orlandu, the most unbalanced character in gaming history. You'll see when you get him.

I also like Rais(I think that was her name...) the holy dragon. turn her into a monk, give her two swords ability, and bam, 4 punchs doing 999 each, crazy lady I tell ya.

But... yeah, there's some crazy combos you can do.

Final Fantasy Tactics is way up there on my favorite alltime video games list.

I am sad that they never made a true sequel.

A thread about my favorite game of all time. :D

I love FFT. I am amazed my original game CD still runs, I poured about 250 hours of my young life into this one. scary. :scared:

The music and art is great, the characters rock, gameplay is awsome, and the visuals of spell and skill effects owned for a tactical game of its time, hell the graphics are not half bad looking even today if you ask me.

The story was amazing, going from a polictical to a mystical storyline was genius and perfectly transitioned. Story character development was wonderful i.e. Larg, Wiegraf, Delita.

For a tatical RPG there was just so much you could do in the game.

Anyway I lost my first 4 games, the leet ones, with my first memory card so I only have one real upper level save left and it's nothing special. On it I used Melidohl, Orlandu, Ramza, Beowulf, and my summoner Channel, who had the awsome Zodiac summon. :D

I am not very good with sales pitches but go buy FFT, you can get it for like 10$ used and it is a must-play for every gamer.

I would love a sequal and my fingers are still crossed. I haven't played FF:TA yet, no GBA and I didn't want to buy one just for it.
