Doesn't suprise me. When it comes to getting customers on benchmarks alone, no holds are barred.

Interesting. We will see what ATI says to these allegations...

Interesting...If this is true, ATI will have some 'splainin to do.
For all of you who don't know what this means:
"Allegedly" the X800 stays in brilinear mode, even if you set it to trilinear, which is why the X800 seems to be ahead of the 6800 while they are both suppose to be set to trilinear. As soon as you use colored mipmaps, the X800 is forced into trilinear, losing it's performance boost, and suddenely becomes slower than the 6800.
I will be very disappointed if this is true...

nividia did it too. They lied about their benchmarks.
Who doesn't lie about their product?

I don't see a damm difference between the 9800XT and the X800's IQ. It looks like the X800 acutally has slightly better IQ then the 9800XT. Even, if ATI did reduce AF and Trilinear to increase FPS without compromising IQ by a noticible degree in gameplay session not under stupid screenshots with special filters. Then that's what optimzing is my friends since ATI can squeze a few more FPS without compromising IQ more power to them. Nvidia was a different matter who tried to deny any optimzations which actually degrade IQ to a noticble margin just keep up with the R3xx, they did the "Quack" trick with 3Dmark03. Then tried to shut-up anyone accuse Nvidia of driver hacks by threating class-action lawsuits. Dammit, stupid fanboys should stop trying to find any faults no matter how small then make a huge fuss out of it since, you can't fairly compaire IQ for the NV4x to the R4xx since, they are different pieces of hardware at heart which will render games slightly different from one and other.

Graphics card companies always cheat on benches Nvidia did it horribly on 3dmark03. It may just be a mistake in the driver someware.
BTW the tech forum is a place for stuff like this, it not just for problems

If ATi didn't do this stuff they wouldn't be able to keep up with nVidias lies and decpetion.
