I thought this up while blowing away TR and VS yesterday. My idea is that all infills have a "glow" affect to it. NC infill would grow yellow, TR red, VS purple, now the purpose of this is to try to reduce TKing, of course you would only glow to friendlies, hell, its bad enough as it is. I was thinking of the same glow affect you have in the training area, but with different colors according to the empire you are on. I feel this would greatly reduce Infill tks.

Kthxbye

Yeah I think it was suggested a while back when people were discussing how to reduce TKs. Wouldn't it just be more simple for friendly infils to glow green?

Why not have the friendly infils show up as if they were seen by darklight?

Becuase then when you use darklight you won't be able to tell the difference. :)

Having friendly infils glow the color of your empire (and only let friendlies see it obviously) is a far to obvious/simple/effective solution. It will never happen.

And when you turn on DL they glow green, too. Simple.

This is a very good idea.

Quoted for horrible and unfortunate truth.

yah that'd be great
cause once i was in a tower and someone said there was an infil upstairs and i went and killed a friendly infil and got flamed to death by him afterwards

That idea would be ok.. Except it kinda would eleminate the real factors of war.. kinda.

Great idea. But.....

.....I would rather get nailed by friendly fire than have a possible bug (and you know there will be one) that lets the enemy see you better. The current one is bad enough, getting really tired of being sniped by a sniper while crouched and standing still. No love for us Infil's :tear:

Heh, but thier probally tired of getting a clip full Amp to the back of the head. :D

I believe the reason that this won't be implemented is that it kind of takes away a bit of the realism factor if this war.

Sure, you can go ahead and laugh and say "Hah! Realism in PlanetSide! It's not realistic anyways!" But in reality, it kind of is. Infantry provide close support for tanks, air units provide air cover, etc. etc. So, for example, in real life, if a sniper is in his guille (spelling?) suit and hiding in some cover, he's not gonna glow yellow to you saying "Yup, I'm pretty friendly", you've got to be careful.

Just my two cents.

Yeah, but snipers don't run infront of M60's, do they?

Friendly infl suits should definately be changed, but how?

Showing up like they were on DL would cause too many problems.
Glowing the faction's color could pose a problem -- bug.

Maybe the font above the character could be larger/more noticable? That might help and reduce the chance of a bug.

I'll take the TKs to avoid bugs/exploits that make me even MORE visible.

This is too simple of a solution for SOE. They will find some crazy thing they pulled out of thier ass and slap it in with massive bugs and then spend two months fixing it.

Sad, but far too true.
