I played one game of Unreal and then deleted it. I really wasn't ever a fan of that series.

yeah well PS isnt out and I need knew games to play everymonth or im not happy , right now im playing metroid prme on game cube ,vice city on ps2,steel batalion on xbox ,and BF1942 on pc
and im sick of BF so its time for a new pc game:D

Apart from the look of the game, it breaks no new ground. It's a fairly good title, but there are definitely better (albeit less pretty) games out there that do what it does and then some. I think the worst aspect though has to be the lack of multiplayer. I didn't know people still made games with no multiplayer...

Max Payne would not have made a good multiplayer game. It'd be non-stop online bullet time.

Of course unreal 2 'ain't multiplayer, thats why they made UT2003 isn't it? Thats was designed primerily as a multi player game.

Nothing wrong with a good single player game once and awhile. Unreal can get away with it because they released UT2k3. The first Unreal was pretty... lame... Looked pretty good but all I ended up doing was spawn monsters and then stop time and find different ways to kill them. I'd have my bullet or whatever just stop in the air right in front of them and then i'd resume time and watch it rip through a Nali. Ahh good times.

I enjoy a game that has a pretty good balance of both. I played quake 2 for awhile but I started playing it single player and got hooked with that. I found out there was multiplayer so I then became obsessed with it. Quake 3 was ok but I felt it lacked that single player influence that made Quake 2 a great game.

One game is like doom

The other is mostely online like quake arena

Ok ok ok I get it now. Yes there are two unreal games. Unreal 2 is the single player version like Doom 3. UT2k3 is obviously the online one like quake 3 arena or "UT"

The long awaited Unreal 2 game is out, shame its shit.

Few good things that are nice about the game, mainly the graphics, but i think it was rushed just like UT2003

Few problems ive found is that the game has the problem of slippery surface meaning it looks like they are ice skating. 2nd some things when you look at them look like they are 2d. 3rd you can walk through objects, like chest boards(yeah..).
Long story short im pissed off. Cause ive been reading up on it, and the producers said it was gonna rule and all, but there jsut doing it for the money so i cant really belive them.
Then again it maybe my shit arse pc(p3 1Gig, geforece4 ti4600) so it could be that piece of shit thats stopping me from this game, but im upgrading it this weekend(meaning p4 2.4gig) so ill post back later if its made an improvement.

Finally if you want to buy a new pc game, want some good SP only, and nice graphics to test your pc then you should buy it, if you dont fall into any of those categories dont bother, youll be either sending it back to the shop or getting really pissed off.

Its ok to flame, only if youve played this game and whatnot.

I played Unreal, the first one... Heh...

Graphics wise, it was a revolution for me, from Duke 3D ;)

But GamePlay.. It was like a future-isic Tomb Raider, and I hated that. I got lost, confused at times, mainly because I hate Tomb Raider type games. There good games, don't get me wrong, but not for me. I wan't fast action paced shooting games, such as PS, or UT2k3, or Counter-Strike, all games for me.. :)

As for Unreal 2, it looks the same, but amazing graphics, who knows if PS gets pushed to April, and I get my PC in March as planned, I MIGHT get it to try it out, we'll see though. ;)

that said, i wouldnt just compare this game to unreal. Its like every other action game, only it has a few models from unreal in it, and its got a 2 at the end of its now. Probably a cool thing to do in the game is to look at the fire, oooohh pretty it is.

dont get me wrong im playing it at the moment cause i couldnt be stuffed inserting and anyother cd into the drive, and the loading time is decent compared to graphics wise.

did i mention is bored me to hell.

Yeah, great logic. Which do you think people will be more willing to buy: the multiplayer or the single-player?


Oh, and yeah, there are some exceptions to the necessity of multiplayer, but not when you're dealing with straight FPS games like U2.

I don't think that people should complain about U2 not having multiplayer, that is what they made UT2K3 for. If you want to complain about something then how about the shameless marketing of the same game under 2 titles. They should have made U2 with multiplayer and not done UT2K3, but instead we get to pay double the price and have no extra fun. :rolleyes:
