View Full Version : [Relationship Lameitude]Germany
Girlfriend has a high, as in LLLLUUUDICROUS! chances, that she is going to win a scholarship to go to Germany from June 04 to July 05. Thats right, over a year. And since Germany is on a 135701257 hour time delay from here, chances are Ill hardly ever talk to her, if at all.
Her best friend has been talking to me a whole lot lately, perhaps due to the fact of my current girls high chances of leaving the country for a year. Dunno if I should pursue it or not.
I pretty much know what to do, I just wanna see comments/suggestions over what I COULD do.
ASIDE from DHITB. :p

Break up with the one going to Germany and leave her friend alone - you can be a manwhore, just not with her best friend!

Depends on your feelings for her and her feelings for you. If you're in love, and it's meant to be, it'll last. If not, it won't, simple as that really. Sometimes distance is good for a relationship, makes you realize new things about the other person. I was in love once, and engaged for a year, but the distance made me realize new things in the relationship, and I ended up breaking it off.
And unless you want to have two women trying to kill you, or badmouthing you everywhere they go, stay as FAR away from her best friend as possible. Nothing worse than a woman scorned because her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend. And just because you dumped her the week before won't make it okay with her if you start seeing her best friend. Women have long memories and hold grudges accordingly, and if they are indeed best friends, she'll find out. Trust me on this.
Do her in the ear. :brow:

Ow.
Girl: "Pull out! Pull out!"
Guy: "I can't! Your earwax has sealed it in!"
Okay, sorry. Anyway, long-distance relationships are possible, just rare. I would try, but don't be ashamed if it doesn't work out. But who knows, maybe you two could make it happen. If so, great! If not, then it's understandable, and hopefully she'll see that.

My sister broke up with her boyfriend (3 years) after she came back from Germany (she was there for about 3-4 months I think).
It's not impossible to talk to eachother, there's only a 6 hour difference from Germany and the east coast, 7 for central, 8 for mountain, and 9 for pacific.

I've had friends who've gone on exchanges, and with regular emails, they seemed like they were still home :)

Rig her chances of going to Germany, make sure she doesn't get the scholarship, and make sure a blizzard comes through Detroit so the airport is closed.
